Lucky Dog Red Pull-Behind Dog Bicycle Trailer Pet Carrier

I love this cart. My Corgi loves it. It is easy to set up, light and sturdy. I pull it behind a MT bike I converted to a gravel urban ride. We cruise on blacktop, gravel and dirt. Sometimes I leave it set up sometimes I fold it down . Just depends on what we are doing. I took a round about to fast and it flipped on its side tore the fabric a little but my 30 lb Corgi was unharmed. We use it aboit 3 rides/wk anout 10 miles/ ride.

We purchased a Lucky Dog Red Pull-Behind Dog Bicycle Trailer Pet Carrier made by Aosom, LLC in October 2018. The cart is well made and accommodates our 70 pound dog, but has one serious design fault. We are certain it works well for small dogs, but if one has a larger pet the unit tips over very easily on uneven ground or slight depressions or bumps especially if the dog sits up rather than laying down which they show in their own product video. This design fault happened to me one several occasions causing me a serious shoulder injury which will involve a shoulder replacement. I am certain this has happened to other riders. Aosom says the recommended weight limit is 66 pounds (an odd number) but numerous adds including this one have the weight limit at 85 pounds. I suspect at one time it was 85 pounds and they changed it because of liability issues and those who market the product have not recognized the weight limit change.To correct this design fault they need to limit the cart to smaller dogs (50 pounds or less), design a universal joint on the attachment arm, or widen the wheel base. The universal joint would allow the cart to turn over and not pull down the bike as it did with me and most likely other riders. The widened wheel base would make it more difficult or nearly impossible for the cart to tip over depending on wheel base width.

We got this because we wanted to be able to get my 15-year-old love of my life dog out and about. He had CHF and wasn’t able to go for walks. He and our two little dogs added up to 60 pounds. They loved being able to be with us on our bike rides. It meant so much to me to have Stevie with me as much as I possibly could. The trailer is sturdy, spacious, and very fun. Thank you!

This trailer is solid. I might be a little worried about the wheels but they can be re-build. The frame is solid and adding a plywood floor to the thing is not going to be any issues. The materials is nice and heavy and keeps the 13 pound Schipperke puppy well contained.My only issue was getting the roll bar installed was very difficult as the new material had little stretch to it. I had to get a neighbor to help me force it into place. His wife thought watching was funny, two old guys fighting with a small trailer for 5 minutes.Still I am very happy and hopeful this rig will make it on my transamerica tour next summer .Thanks.

I ended up requesting a refund for this item since it tipped over with my dog riding in it and he sustained a minor injury. I was turning a corner, going slowly and it went over. My dog is 22 pounds. I think this would be excellent for a heavier dog or a couple of smaller dogs who can keep the center of gravity lower. It was quite challenging for me to assemble, particularly fitting in the cross bar at the top and keeping the holes aligned. Once assembled, I loved the way my dog fit in there comfortably...he was just too small.

I have a disabled dog. I pretty much have to take him everywhere, and this is such a great way for me to ride my bike and him to sit safely in a little trailer of his own. It works well with my e-bike, has lots of room, and is easy to access. He needs to get used to it, but I think he's going to love it this summer.

This is a very sturdy product. Great quality. Bought it for my 2 mini goldendoodles to rode in together. They are 30 pounds each. They both fit fine. One of my dogs would not calm down in it so I returned it. I would recommend it for sure. I just couldn't keep it with one of my dogs freaking out.
