New Version Sauna Wooden Hourglass Sand Timer 15 Minutes

We have a four person Sanafin Sauna, and I bought TWO of these sand timers so that people entering the Sauna at different times could each have their own timer. I mounted them 8 inches apart in nice horizontal alignment. I tested them both and they were initially very accurate -- both emptying out within a few seconds difference from 15 minutes. Then the one mounted on the right clogged up a week or two ago. The sand jammed up in the little orifice. Easily fixed by just turning the timer over and letting the sand go back in the other direction. Next couple of times I used it, it worked fine, and then it clogged again. I told my wife that it was no big deal. I'll just replace the defective one. Then this morning, the one of the left clogged up just like the one on the right. I restarted both of them at the same time, and both worked. Go figure. Point is that they will occasionally jam up. I don't care now. I use a timer on my wrist watch anyway, and these two sand timers are pretty and kind of unique.

This timer has yet to go a full 15 minutes without clogging up and stopping. Very disappointed. The other issue I have with it is it's made of pine... and it has a knot in it which of course leaked sap the first session we had it installed. That was the same session we found out the timer stops randomly so you need to make sure it's moving. I was going to take the glass timer body out and make a new frame out of cedar to match the wood in my sauna but the damn thing doesn't even work. JUNK!! Sad... very sad....
