Shardor - minimum greater than our maximum & struggled to operate it initially.Krups - beautiful but because its made in one piece, not possible to wash.Duronic - couldn't detach the base from the bowl.Tried all of the above and found Dr.Mills to be the best option.It does the job, its washable and beautiful.

Bought this model, because it has a cap that fits over the body of the unit. This has proven to be very good indeed, as there is no spillage of whatever it is one has in the unit. I have an older machine, which does not have this cap, and it spews out what is being chopped, all over the place.

Easy to use and tackles herbs and spices with ease. Simple to clean

It's a great grinder for herbs, seeds, suger and salt, but maybe not much for nuts as it doesn't have the power (to be fair I only tested walnut and it failed). It works great for spices, herbs and grains which is the reason I bought it, and I'm very happy with it. The fact that you can wash it and clean it easy is just amazing.

I took time to find the one that would meet my needs. This grinder is just what I needed. very pleased.1. Tap lightly on the top when using. It just needs a light touch to chop nuts. Press and hold for powder. Could always be used to chop or make a powder out of dehydrated vegetables' as well. I only need a small amount at a time so this works great for me. If your doing a larger then a two person batch then you will need a grinder with a larger container.2.It came with the scraper/brush tool. The scraper works great for getting out chopped food. The brush worked great for getting every bit of powder out.3.For cleaning I put in a drop of dish soup then used the sink sprayer to clean and rinse. The sprayer cleans it perfectly with no need to get my fingers near the blades. All the reviews I read said the blades are very sharp so I do whats needed to keep my fingers out of the container.4.If you lose the brush/scraper you can replace it with the same size/width painters brush found everywhere. The scraper can often be found in the beauty section of any store because it's made to scrape out small jars.5. I didn't find the motor noise loud at all. The most noise comes from being used with food and that doesn't take very long to process.

I did a lot of research on coffee grinders before deciding on this one. Boy, did I make the right choice. This is be best little grinder. It doesn't take up a lot of room. It's easy to grind the coffee and grinds just the right amount. I'm very pleased with this grinder. It's perfect for me. I love the easy way it can be used.
