Review: Gripping Story - Here is the review from my 12 year old daughter- Honestly one of the best nonfiction books out there. With its gripping storyline, it really brought light to what people needed to remember- the Sudanese civil war- and served as a reminder to always remember the lives lost. It felt real- as though it was happening right in front of me. And the thing is- it was real. It was very real. And it happened right in front of many people- many whose lives were lost, who saw their family, their friends die, the survivors who still live on with the trauma. But we are humans, and humans can hope. We can heal. And we can help. This book is a masterpiece- no lies, just facts, just the plain, clear truth. Review: Bag - I love the bag it’s awesome

An Honest Review!
In contrast, Salva’s story begins in 1985, amidst the chaos of the Second Sudanese Civil War. Separated from his family, Salva becomes one of the "Lost Boys" of Sudan, embarking on a perilous journey across the continent. His experiences, from facing armed rebels to surviving encounters with wild animals, highlight the extraordinary resilience and hope required to endure such hardships. Park’s writing is straightforward yet evocative, capturing the essence of their struggles and triumphs. The inclusion of Salva Dut’s real-life story adds a layer of authenticity and depth, making the reader's experience even more impactful. "A Long Walk to Water" is more than just a tale of survival; it is a testament to the human spirit's capacity for hope and perseverance. The book’s exploration of themes like displacement, resource scarcity, and the quest for a better future provides valuable lessons for readers of all ages. While targeted at middle-grade readers, the book’s content and themes make it a compelling read for both teens and adults. It encourages empathy and a greater understanding of the global issues surrounding water scarcity and war. This is a must-read for anyone looking to broaden their perspective and gain a deeper appreciation for the struggles faced by children in conflict zones.

A great read!
(I had bought this book for my 10year old son. Below is the review written by him): "A long walk to water gives readers a closer look on how life is in the poorer countries. It tells the stories of two different children in different parts of Sudan: Salva and Nya. Salva is a Sudanese boy who, when gunfire breaks out while he's at school, is forced to go on the run due to the civil war - leaving his family behind. The story focuses on the heart wrenching details of his journey. Nya is a young girl whose story takes place several years after that of Salva. Also a child living in Sudan. Nya's job is to make very long journeys to fetch water for their family They face many hardships but always overcome them in some way. it shows us about the true life of the refugees and orphans. It is well written and captivates the reader through the various emotions of the characters. Highly recommended to both adults and children"

It's great
It was a great read and I was surprised to find that it was a true story about a real boy. It was entertaining and serious at times. The main character Salva has a lot of ups and downs in his life. After starting to read the book I couldn't help but finish it in less than a week
