What is the source of the vitamin D3? Lanolin?

Well, darn it. Why don't they list that on the label? It's the main ingredient!! I'm looking for a VEGAN vitamin D3 made from lichen - also biologically identical to the Cholecalciferol we make from the sun. Thank you for asking the question.

how big are the tablets?

The 2000 IU pills I bought about a year ago (2017) were about 2-3 times the size of the ones I received today (6/2018). The bottles are both quantity 360, both say 200 IU, but one says 500%DV (older) and the newer one says 250%DV. The newer one says 50 mcg - the older one doesn't list MCG, just IU and DV. I like the smaller bottle and smaller pills, but it's a little puzzling exactly what might've changed. Also the newer one is missing the UPC barcode in the product listing on Amazon, which is 716563750039. There is a barcode on the newer one but it's a funny code "X000ZXMUU1" whatever that is. The newer one expires 10/2019, so about 16 months out. The older pills have a diameter of about 1/2", the newer ones about 5/16". I would post a comparison picture, but Amazon doesn't make that simple.

The first time I bought this the pills were white. Now they are brown speckled. Is this a knock off or change in manufacturing or something else?
