Outstanding
I love these because they are very, very warm without being bulky. They are attractive. Have already bought them as gifts for others who live where it's cold.

X-C and driving mittens: pliable and warm
These are THE BEST. I wish they didn't cost so much. That's what I thought when I bought my first pair. They're thin, but very warm. I think they must be merino wool, as they aren't itchy. The little strips on the palm let me drive with them, but they're perfect for X-C skiing as well. The reason I bought this pair was that I was sure I had lost my first set. Now the new set is waiting for the other ones to wear out. They're showing no sign of that, five years later.

Well made
I bought these as I have Raynaud's and someone had reviewed them and said that they were good for their hands and they had Raynaud's. They do keep my hands warmer than my gloves, but, when you get to the low 30 degree area, the benefit lessens. They are great for driving with their rubber (silicon?) patches in a number of spots. They have both a leather like patch and a loop to grip for pulling them on. The cuff covers well above my wrist. The interior is soft, while the exterior reminds me a bit of an old green wool blanket from my childhood--well, maybe not that bad! You will not be able to use your cellphone with these. I'm pleased and will continue to use them.

lightweight yet warm, quality mittens!
Having Raynaud's, gloves in cold weather can be worse than having nothing on, so I've come to peace with the fact that big furry mittens are my only option tot keep my fingers from falling off. I have perhaps 5 or 6 pairs of various technologies, and the warmest ones are huge. Now, come Outdoor Research mittens. These are exceptionally thin and neat, and I almost did not even test them for cold; however, I am glad I trusted the description. It got below 20° F here in NY, and they they proved to be some of the warmest mittens I have tried without looking like balloons on my hands. I spent perhaps an hour outside, and the only finger that suffered was the thumb as it is all by itself, so I did have to pull it into the palm portion a couple of times to warm up. My hands were not toasty but they were comfortable, particularly compared to how freezing cold it was when I had to take them off a time or two. My hand size in women's gloves/mittens is typically on Med to Med/Large side, and given some of the reviews that they run small, I ordered both - Large and Medium. However, Medium felt better. These are designed to be more of a snug fit kind of like gloves, and I don't mind that, maybe just a little wider for the thumb, but not a big deal, and I feel they will stretch out a bit with wear. The quality of the material (63% Polyester, 26% Wool, 11% Nylon), the stitching, the well thought-out design with 4 grip islands, the loops to pull them on and the little clip to keep them together make me love them more. They look neat enough to wear on a date but not too fragile to carry a grocery bag, and the only downside is that you have to take them off to use a phone. I haven't washed these yet but they are machine washable. Overall, beautiful warm mittens with a couple of minor twitches, absolutely worth the price!

LOVE these Mitts - not too bulky
LOVE these Mitts - not too bulky, totally soft inside without any irritating seams. Block cold and wind very, very well. Low profile fits Inside other outer mitts if you will be in a true Alpine environment, the rest of us won't need any other mitten than these. Little texturized rubberish stuff on palm to help grip a steering wheel. They aren't really dense black, they have a little texture-color to them, and even have a love profile little seatbelt-clip to keep the pair together. GREAT DEAL $15, I have bought these repeatedly as gifts at twice the price - they are worth it.

Love the mitts
Love the mitts! This is my second pair (managed to lose one of the pair last winter). Great for a little bit of everything as winter rolls it - grippies for be good driving mitts but the steering wheel is too cold, easy to slip on to hop out to fill the gas tank or grab coffee, but also stand up to bigger feats like a mountain hike or climbing adventure. For a mitt that looks nice enough to match with work clothes, these can stand up to some burly adventures!

Sizing
My hands are 7.5 inches long and the medium was too small. I am going to size up

Super-soft / not super warm
Super-soft mittens, but a bit thin, not super warm at 32 degrees or below. Not wind resistant.

I had those mitts before, really appreciated them. I was trying to find a replacement pair and finally found one. They are great for temperatures to around -10 C, perfect for driving also.
