Review: BE PREPARED TO EVACUATE--with 2021 Update - We have a cat with pica. He eats things he ought not, so we spray down the Christmas tree and treeskirt with bitter apple every year. This year, when we pulled out the bitter apple, it had stopped tasting bad (as we found out through a mis-spray) so we ordered Bitter Yuck. It arrived promptly and we set up the tree. I then began to spray. Bitter Yuck has a nice, easy to use trigger handle that allows you to spray a whole Christmas tree with less hand cramping than the hairspray bottle offered by Bitter Apple. This is a plus. You can deliver a lot of this nasty, noxious, hellish substance to a tree in short order. Then you can stand back to admire your work. This is where you will make your mistake. The correct course of action is to spray quickly, then run away. Far, far away. As you stand back, you will suddenly be aware that something isn't... right. Your mouth, despite careful efforts to breathe through your nose, tastes off. This taste intensifies with each successive breath. You can't figure out why. You carefully didn't open your mouth while you sprayed the Bitter Yuck. Then you realize. The call is coming from inside the house. The cloud of Bitter Yuck has penetrated your oral cavity via your nasal passages. And it's not going anywhere. No, once it's in your nose, it's in your mouth and you're doomed. That's when the gagging starts. By the time your spouse and roommate, on the other end of the room, start gagging, the heaving has set in. At this point, a smart being would evacuate. And so that is what we did. We fled. We ran to the other end of the house, where the flavour lingers and the occasional dry heave continues. If the little bastard eats the Christmas tree with this stuff on it, then there's no stopping him. This should prevent even the strongest, most motivated chewer. If not, well. It'll at least get you out of the room you're trying to protect so you won't see the damage. Good luck. UPDATE, 1.5 YEARS LATER: We are now moving and we were packing the Christmas stuff for the move. We made the mistake of packing and eating brownies at the same time. We touched the Christmas stuff. We ate a bit of brownie. We threw out the brownies. It's been since Christmas 2019. It is now July 2021. The potency has not been reduced (though it doesn't hit the air and get into your nose and mouth aerosolized once it dries). This stuff has amazing staying power. I still highly recommend it! Review: My plants thanked me!... the dogs not so much lol - It is disgusting! No creature in my house with a heartbeat will go near it. My fiancé dared our son to taste it yesterday for $5... he puked on my floor... he got $20 LOL Suggestion: wear rubber gloves and stop breathing when you use this! If you lick your finger afterwards or breath it in during use you will taste it for the rest of the day!!

Works good, but gets in the air.
I bought this for my dog Josie. A coupon of years ago she tore her “ACL” -I know it’s called something else for dogs, but it’s the equivalent of a human ACL. She had the TPLO surgery and has an implant and several screws in her leg. We catch her licking her scar site quite often. We use these types of sprays to keep her from licking it sore. We tried this one out because the cost was much lower than the namebrand bitter apple spray that we had been getting. It is so strong, that we have to take her in another room to spray her leg, sometimes it follows us and we end up tasting it ourselves because it’s in the air. Yuck! Yuck! It is nasty stuff. It definitely gets her to stop licking her leg, and that’s the whole point of it. So, it works! I just wish it wasn’t so strong, and I wish we couldn’t taste it after we spray it. We have backed off to only spray it one time. We still taste it. Bleh!

Didn’t really work
I got this because my puppy was chewing everything so I sprayed shoes, door frames and even my hand and it really didn’t do anything

Terrible product
Bought this to help our 4 month old lab from chewing on furniture. Worst product ever. Didn't deter him. Made him eat on the furniture worse. Everything that was sprayed with this was chewed to death after one day. Look else where
