I purchased this product for my granddaughter, who has mixed hair, and when she tried it for the first time and told me how well it worked on her hair, I was elated, because we had been trying different hair products for awhile, and nothing seemed to work. We are very pleased with how well this product works for her!

Here's how you unlock it
It's an unusual but simple mechanism: Push the button on the side of the pump to the other side. Unlocked! Now you can squeeze a hard to control, fast, powerful, fan-shaped? stream of product into your hair. It's actually better than the single stream I was expecting but certainly not the gentler, even spray I was hoping for.The bottle came bagged with a good amount of bubble wrap around the pump. Nothing was damaged or leaking. It has a light, citrus scent. Despite the oil and instructions to apply this to damp hair, I tried this on dry hair since that's when I often need it. It dried weightless, soft, smooth, and shiny. It was hard to tell if it helped detangle much. I'm more trying not to pull my increasingly fragile hair out, but the strands were about the same as without the detangler. I also tried it after a shower, and the difficulty brushing and hair loss seemed about the same then too. I'm still giving it the benefit of the doubt that it works - maybe better for truly tangled or curly hair and if you're combining it with other Mixed Chicks products as intended.I currently prefer Pantene's Conditioning Hair Mist Detangler. It sprays better and smells like strawberries.

Great for my toddler
I have a 3 year old biracial daughter with 3c hair. This is amazing at detangling her hair without issue. She does not cry, pull away or complain at all when I use this. 10/10 recommend.
