Product Description The portability of a folding stool meets the comfort of a chair. .com The portability of a folding stool meets the comfort of a chair. Designed to provide portable seating with minimum weight and maximum portability, the Ultimate Slacker is at home everywhere from kayak expeditions to shoreline picnics. Like all TravelChairs, it features high-quality, thickwalled frame tubing, abrasion- and fade-resistant materials and sturdy connection systems that won't flex, sway, or wobble. Specifications: Dimensions Open: 15 by 15 by 29 inches Dimensions Closed: 5 by 7 by 34 inches Seat Height: 16.5 inches Weight: 2.66 pounds Weight Capacity: 275 pounds Travelchair Features Webbing Seat belt webbing is good enough to save your life and it is good enough to reinforce our chairs. Travelchair goes beyond the industry standard to use the toughest webbing in the business. Feet Feet hold the chair together and keep you out of the dirt. Travelchair feet are designed, like our molded grommets, to be at peace when loaded. The nylon insures that the feet in your chair will be flexible and strong. Grommets Travelchair molds grommets to conform to optimal angles when the chair is loaded. High strength nylon and double stitching means no compromise in durability. Rivets Not all rivets are the same--Travelchair rivets are oversized to maintain frame integrity. Instead of drilling a large hole to drop the rivet into and then mashing down the ends for a tight fit, Travelchair drills to exacting tolerances, which means more manufacturing time spent creating products, and much longer product life. Frames Travelchair steels and aluminums are a grade higher than what is on the market and a tick or two thicker than the average chair, resulting in stronger, longer lasting frames. Fabric The common thread throughout the Travelchair line is that each fabric is the ultimate in durability for its intended use. Take the 600 denier nylon, for example. Travelchair uses a double layer instead of a single layer like discounted store chairs. The ballistic nylon and polyester meshes have been put through rigorous product testing in the Desert Southwest, in Chilean Patagonia, and in the Travelchair warehouse in Gig Harbor, Washington. Details Travelchair finishes products with details such as bar tacking, doubling of fabrics, and reinforcement fabrics made of seat belt material because they believe the bottom line is superior design.

if only it has a case but overall it's a good buy
i do volunteer work for a hospice and sometimes i don't have anything to sit on that i end up sitting on the floor most of the time (i just cover it w/ a magazine or newspaper).... so i started looking for a portable chair that i can carry around (i have to visit 4 patients in a day) and this is really very helpful... i can just fold it, tug the strap (so it would close really tight) and put the straps on my shoulder and im ready to move around (since all my patients are in wheel chair i move around a lot because i usually wheel them up and down the hall)...i was having second thoughts about the back support thing, because it would just add to the bulk of the chair but i'm still glad i bought this one... it makes sitting comfortable, specially to someone like me who needs to have support on my back or my back would start hurting..... besides, it's light weight so it's easy to carry even w/ the back support...i just wish though it has a case so the legs of the chair won't trip you when you're carrying it on ur shoulder...but overall it's still a good buy...

Great SIMPLE chair/stool
This chair/stool is very, very basic-- a tripod of legs with a canvas seat and a canvas "sling" back. However, despite its simplicity, it is actually quite functional and comfortable! This chair/stool is not as comfortable as a traditional travel chair, but it is also far more simple than a traditional chair, weighing far less. Due to its design, it is most comfortable for sitting with one's legs slightly separated (as opposed to sitting cross-legged). I wouldn't want to sit in this chair/stool for hours on end, but it is great for shorter periods of time. This chair folds VERY easily, but does not have any clips or straps to keep it closed (though I think you could use the shoulder strap in some way?). That's okay, though, because it does stay closed while being carried. It also comes with a shoulder strap to make it easier to carry. If you need a lightweight travel chair/stool that is NOT in a nylon bag (some venues restrict the types of chairs permitted, and prohibit chairs in bags), this might be the perfect choice for you!

I said, "Oh! Thank you!!!" when I sat down.
Yes indeed. I got this chair because I have nerve damage in my feet and chronic pain in my back and legs. I love to walk and need to walk, but I get tired. I'm too short for any affordable rolling walker, and frankly, I'd prefer not to use one anyway, 'cause I don't have a balance problem. I got this because it has a short seat and a back. It was a shot in the dark. I took it out of the box, set it up in a few seconds, and sat down. I almost cried. It is SO comfortable. I know this is meant for camping, but it is awesome for my LIFE!!! The sling seat is incredible for my low back pain and eases other pains that I have caused by being bedridden too much. I will be able to throw this in a rolling cart because it's so light. I'll be able to bring it into friends' homes and re-join the party. I am so grateful. What a simple solution to a complex problem!!!! Did I gush enough? Probably, but I there aren't many objects that I can be that grateful for! Thank you, Travelchair, whoever you are!!!

Light and great for the trail
I bought this as my camping/backpacking chair and it works great. The one design complaint I have is that the back is too narrow and digs into my rib cage so the manufacturer should flay the back support poles out at angles to widen it. Charge a little more for it and it's perfect.Every product has some little thing like this. Why doesn't anyone just go ahead and make a perfect product? Why does everything have to have some little thing wrong with it? All it takes is thinking a bit about the design and then testing it.Anyway, It's a bit narrow in the back support but other than that it's a perfect upgrade to the traditional backpacking tripod chair. The velcro strap that comes attached to it to wrap it up also doubles as a shoulder strap, which is great. I like it and recommend it.

Safety item
I bought this because my husband has trouble standing or walking for a long time. He has been reluctant to take walks or go to functions where there might not be seating. We took this along to our granddaughter's college graduation, confident he would be able to rest. As it turned out, he was able to find a seat on a bench and I used the folding chair to sit near him. It isn't as comfortable as an easy chair, but it isn't meant to be. It is secure, lightweight, has some back support and, for us, provides a safety net, allowing activities we might otherwise miss.

UNSTABLE ! ! !
This chair is very unstable even on hard surface like my office floor. In order to keep from falling over I need to keep my legs spread apart to balance it. On grass it even worse because of the small feet and narrow stance. The distance between the tripod legs is only 13 inches. I would like to see a person weighing 200 lbs. try to sit on it on the lawn. See what they changed on the newer model 2.0. I went back to my old camp chair which is a bit bigger and heavier.

Back rest is nice, but seat is too small and not that comfortable
The chair is lightweight and easy to fold, but it's not as comfortable as I had hoped. I previously had a stool with a bigger seat, but no back rest, and I thought I'd like this one better because of the back rest. The back rest is nice to have, but the seat is not particularly comfortable. I'm not that big (115 lbs), and I feel like the seat's almost too small for me. This would not be a good chair for a bigger person. Also, it is pretty long even when it's folded, so it's not super-compact. If I had to do it again, I'd purchase a different stool.

Travel chair with back, perfect.
The Ultimate Travelchair is perfect for photographers or anyone who carries heavy gear and needs to sit occasionally. It's sturdy, and not too low, with a strap for shoulder carry. If you carry around a 500mm you will totally relate to what a chair will do, which is relieve you of the weight of the gear whenever you need to. I also keep it in my car for when my mom is with me and needs to sit down on an outing.I also ordered the one without the back for longer hikes, which is shorter and easy to wear on the hip. Both are perfect for this.

comfortable but awkward to carry
It is comfortable but larger than I expected and awkward to carry. It does not have a carry bag. I did not take it on my trip.
