I bought this to protect my sink from heat as my curling wand doesn't have a resting clip. Great for that purpose! I have not travelled with it so can't comment. But to protect your countertops I give it an A+

Every time I'm trying to get packed and out the door for a trip my flat iron delays me, so when I saw this I thought "Eureka! That's just what I need!" It has not disappointed in the least. I keep my flat iron in this at all times except for when it's in use, which is also helpful, as it keeps it closed, so it takes up less space in the vanity drawer. The silicone does not transfer heat and it also makes a great protection mat to set your flatiron on when it is heating up. I am so glad I found this!

I tend to keep my straightener on the counter in the bathroom so I thought I’d try this and it works great. I put the straightener on it and when I’m done I immediately put it in it and it hasn’t damaged my straightener at all. I definitely suggest buying.

Just used for vacation and came in handy.Put in pocket while cooling down.
