Performers 1st Choice German Martingale Rein Set

This item is a great tool for training horses. My only wish is that I could have found it in black.

If you have an average size horse, dont buy this. Its way too short and did not fit my 15.3 Tb. Complete waste rof money.

My item was supposed to be delivered on Sept. 9. The delivery date changed 3 times! From Sept. 9 to Sept. 13, and then Sept. 14. I did get it by the 13th. The item is good, reins are a little shorter than I like, but fine otherwise. If you order from this company, pay extra for faster delivery. Maybe FedEx will get it to you faster. HorseLoverz offered to refund the shipping cost, but that wasn't the issue, it really was FedEx. I will not buy from the company again- I'll stick with companies I've used before. Faster service and delivery even for standard delivery charges.

This German martingale fits my thick Paint and my Quarab, helped with what a martingale could (always best to not rely on artificial items like this, but can be helpful in the correct hands), If I could i would extend the reins a fair amount because it was definitely a pain being at the end on my reins compared to having my loved extra, I also felt at some points I was cheating my horse and so I have stopped using it on my long-necked paint and only use it on my short-necked Quarab. Still a great quality, great price, the leather is pretty stiff, so make sure you work it before you need it, buckles are still doing great for me! I would recommend this to anyone willing to cope for a good price (maybe use some twine or make-shift, as long as it is safe, to extend the reins?)!

I received this product in the mail on Friday, and I used it on my very average size horse, and it is SO SMALL I cannot even use it. Now that it has been opened, and used, Im sure they won't take it back. UGH!!! I have used a german martingale many many times in the past, and usually there is TOO much slack... with this one, you can't even get it thru the bit to clip to the first loop. I have also made the girth loop as long as it goes.

The quality of this item is very poor. Unfortunately I didn't realize until after my first use that the one I got was defective - the buckle on the end of the rein (where the two reins attach) is backwards; to have the loops facing out you need to twist the rein once to buckle it! Since I already used it I figured I'm stuck with it, and have used it two more times and one of the keepers ripped already. I was excited to try this product, and my horse seems to go well with it, but after just a few more uses it is probably going to fall apart completely. I don't recommend buying this; spend a little more for better quality.

To start off it arrived on time, but when I opened the package, I noticed it was SUPER short... But I thought it would be fine because leather stretches. (I have a four yr old quarter/paint) my first ride went alright but then my second time using The martingale one of the latches that connected to the rains snaped when my horse jerked his head... Which was super disappointing, I tried to fix it but.. Unfortunately I couldn't

be careful when buying this item. The split-to-clip is very short - 24 inches. Other german martingales i have bought have a length almost twice that size.
