High quality molds safe for my family!
I purchased these molds because my daughter cannot have any liquids that are in plastics. I almost didn't buy them due to the price, however after using them (now for the 3rd time in 24 hours), I am looking forward to buying another set! The set comes with 6 stainless steel molds, mold holding tray, stainless steel popsicle mold lids, and colored discs to hold the sticks in place (that go inside the lids). We also got some extra discs (I suppose for color coordination.) My first batch was banana berry smoothie made with goat milk. It was a thick mixture made in the evening. By the next morning, the popsicles were ready to go and easily slid out by running the popsicle molds under cold water for a second or two. Hot water melted the popsicles too much inside the mold (so when I took it out it was melty on the outside). Lesson learned... use cold water to get them out. The kids loved them, and I have to say the popsicle lids double as DRIP CONTROL! The sticks fit firmly into the discs, and the mold lids are angled so any liquid that drips down is caught (AKA not all over my children's hands). Even they liked that. Two down in the afternoon, so I put some BLU Frog energy drink into the two molds. Note: when putting carbonated beverages into molds, leave more room. I forgot that little tidbit and had a bit of popsicle trickling down the sides later. Tonight after dinner the kids finished off the first batch of popsicles while my boyfriend and I had energy drink pops! They were great! The molds were super easy to work with. I'm REALLY surprised! Being stainless steel, I thought I might be asking for trouble with them but they are AWESOME! The size of popsicle is quite generous, as well. I put a third batch into the molds after dinner so all of us can enjoy pops in the morning... blueberry canteloupe with dates and goat milk. Who can argue with that? These puppies could even be eaten for BREAKFAST and be okay. I just turned into the fun mom again! I don't know what else people would be looking for in molds for a review, but pros and cons so here goes: PROS: quick & easy release from molds, DRIP CONTROL design, colored discs for marking flavors, tray keeps pops upright, doesn't take up much space CONS: price (but TOTALLY WORTH it after using them, especially because they last forever) If you are on the fence about these... bite the bullet and get a mold you can pass down to your own children one day!

Better Than Plastic for Healthy Good for you Pops!
I bought a set of plastic popsicle molds at the store but the fixed drip guard at the bottom made eating the last bit of popsicle difficult. Plus you are dealing with plastic which is not good on any level. These are nice because you just have a stick and can eat the whole pop easily plus they release really easily. I make my popsicle mix with the Magic Bullet mixer/blender. I use the large cup and it fills all 6 molds if you fill it to the top. I freeze cut up organic bananas, strawberries and blueberries and organic coconut milk which I freeze in ice cube trays. When I want to make pops I use about half to three quarters organic frozen fruit with a cube or two of organic coconut milk, one teaspoon of organic ceylon cinnamon, one scoop of "Healthy n' Fit" vanilla egg protein powder, a tiny bit of stevia, organic 100% cacau unsweetened chips, then I put half organic rice milk and half organic oat milk. Mix with the Magic Bullet and you get a thick frozen starter to put in the molds. You might have to use a spoon to control the frozen mix into a thin enough stream to get it to pour into the molds. Since it is already partially frozen you get a more of a fudgesicle consistency when it is frozen than an icy consistency. This recipe contains no sugar other than the fruit, no dairy, and the ceylon cinnamon has many health benefits. It is well worth making your own pops so you can avoid sugar and chemicals.

Get rid of plastic & make your best ice pops ever!
This set of Onyx stainless steel ice pop molds has inspired me to make my best Popsicles ever! I happened to purchase these molds right as "Popsicle Week" was being celebrated on numerous food blogs. If you're in need of ideas for your ice pops, search for Popsicle Week and you won't be disappointed. I also recommend Fany Gerson's book "Paletas" for basic how-to information and loads of creative ideas. Although these molds cost more than I would typically pay for a set of platic molds from the dollar store, the quality is undeniable - and no BPA or other plastic worries. These molds could become fought-over heirlooms in my family. :-) Stuff to know: - Each individual mold holds about 3 ounces of water by volume, unfrozen. Your specific results will vary because you're probably not going to use these to just freeze water. Leave about 1/4 inch for expansion. - Individual molds are super handy for making very small batches or even "one-offs" of different flavors. Great for accommodating different preferences or experimenting. Use the silicone circles in the lids to color-code your batches. - It's easy to make layers of flavor combinations if you have a few small Mason jars and an immersion blender. Make a different flavor in each jar, spoon a little into the molds, let freeze for about 20 minutes, then add the next layer. Continue layering as desired. There's minimal clean-up for the effort, and the pops will look so fancy, lol! - It takes about 5 hours for pops to freeze solid (maybe less, depending on your freezer) - Buy a bunch of Popsicle sticks to go with your new molds. You don't get that many with the set, and you're going to want to make a lot of ice pops to justify spending so much on stainless steel molds. My husband and I don't mind reusing sticks just between the two of us, but there's no way I will serve used sticks to guests and I wouldn't want to reuse sticks from pops they've consumed, anyway. Ick. - It's amazing that 3 oz of a mixture of plain yogurt, coconut milk, fruit and honey can feel like such a treat, but it really does. Homemade ice pops are great for cutting down on or eliminating less wholesome treats and the built-in portion control really helps. - Most kids would roll their eyes if you expected them to be excited about a tiny bowl of yogurt and fruit for dessert, but freeze it into ice pops and they can't get enough. Bottom line: get these ice pop molds and never look back!

Um..., what is that kid sucking on?
I very much like the fact that someone has finally created a non-plastic, stainless steel popsicle mold. This is pretty much the only reason we bought these for our two kids. They are certainly easy to use, and they can be recycled some day at the end of their (probably very long) useful life. For this, I say here here. The unfortunate thing about them is their, well, shape. Our neighbor bought a set for her household, too, and she and we independently had the same reaction to them the first time we saw them: They bear an uncanny resemblance to a human penis. This probably wouldn't be so very terrible, except for the very obvious fact that we have to watch our kids eating them! I have a hard time believing that we could be the first or only people who have this thought when we look at them. (And we are decent hardworking parents of young children, not some lewd sub-culturalists who see a pornographic reference in every object around us.) Even me own mother, my children's grandmother, had the same reaction when she saw them! It's enough to make one nervous to give one to our children's visiting friends, lest thier parents raise their eyebrows at us... So, my question is simple: Why is it that the fine people who created these molds felt is was just fine to go ahead with manufacturing them in their current shape? Surely there are about a billion other suitable non-penis-like shapes that they could have gpne with. Please, for the love of all that is decent, somebody make an inoccuously-shaped popsicle mold in stainless steel!

Great product
We bought these molds in an effort to stay away from plastic leeching into out Popsicles while in the freezer. This product fits the bill. They are easy to clean and we've made lots of great homemade natural flavor s. the kids are lovin it. I'm taking off a star because I very much dislike the shape. It's uncomfortable to stick the frozen pop in your mouth. It's too wide. I've had a few laughs with friends over the look of the silver molds too. Pick a different shape next time!

The BEST Popsicle Mold
We love our Onyx popsicle mold! We've had it for about a year now and not a day goes by that it isn't in use. We have an autistic son and are trying to avoid all things chemical and especially to avoid plastic. A year ago we searched the internet for hours to find the highest quality and most competitively priced stainless popsicle mold. We were fortunate to have come across this wonderful product because we have been extremely happy with our purchase. Life Without Plastic appear to have recently copied the popsicle mold, but are charging more for it at $7.95/mold or $47.70 for 6 popsicles. Unfortunately for Onyx that's what happens in the marketplace when you have a truly great product. Luckily for Onyx, LWP cannot beat their competitive price (especially considering the time and effort put into designing the first of its kind on the market). My children had accidentally discarded a few caps for the molds, so I called Onyx to see if it was possible to get replacements (the caps help to hold the stick in place while the juice/liquid freezes into a popsicle). The customer service was excellent. It turns out that the mold's creator answered the call herself! A mom of two kids who lives in Canada's west coast and who has designed and marketed this all by herself. As a fellow Canadian and mother of multiple children, I was very proud of her accomplishments. A short while later my complimentary popsicle caps arrived in the mail thanks to a very supportive and kind customer service department (smile). Thank you for creating such fun and safe product. My kids love the molds and especially that they are shaped like rockets, like rocket pops (we do not have the issue that other customers have reported...come on people this is what popsicles look like and how they have been shaped for over 50 years).

small defect but loves it anyway
very happy w/ this even though one of the six stainless holders leaked at the 3/4 mark. I couldn't see the leak a but it would drip, drip, drip, like a magic trick. Amazon offered to replace it but I said "no way, I love what I have"! I put a little MMM tape on it and problem solved. The insides are dull but very smooth. The Onyx Popsicle Mold is well made, looks and works great, but does take up much space. Tip: Slide the stick into the lid first to avoid the small rubber popping out and going into the liquid.) kinghaig

It really is as pictured.
This is a nice set. It does have a nice shine on the outside. While some have said it's very small, actually, we find the size to be perfect. The tops for the popsicle stick are nice as well. Well polished. We do recommend this set.

Fabulous Popsicle Moulds!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these! They are awesome, so much so, that I’m seriously thinking about getting a 2nd one. Each one holds about 110 ml and I’m currently using them to make sugarfree ‘Fudgesicle’ type frozen treats. (I’m doing low carb). I’m planning to try a chocolate custard in them soon as well, and also a vanilla ice cream that I’ll dip into a sugar free chocolate mixture. They release very easily after running them under cold water for a few moments and I either rinse them out under hot water or put them in the dishwasher (including the re-usable bamboo sticks). I’m really glad I broke down and spent the extra money on these - they are fantastic quality and they will be in constant use!
