Hi there. So, I have received the unit in perfect working order, and additionally I am very impressed with the quality and design of your product. By way of introduction, I am an audio engineer and a production professional, currently working in the NYC area. My particular application for the ROOFUL Optical to Coaxial Bi-Directional Converter/Adapter is as follows: Within my career as a Touring Production Manager, and Live Sound Engineer, I have amassed a large library of live recordings on DAT , (Digital Audio Tape), and it is my desire to transfer my library onto hard drive, before the DAT storage medium becomes completely degraded and unusable, without utilizing any analogue steps within the transfer process. The final destination for the media is into the Pro Tools Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). I am utilizing a Sony DTC-ZE 700, (DAT), for tape transport, into a Tascam DA-30 MKII, (DAT), for digital input into my UAD Apollo 16 audio interface, via AES/EBU 3 pin XLR balanced input. This is where your product comes into play, as the Sony DTC-ZE 700 only provides optical digital output, and the Tascam DA-30 MKII only provides for digital input via coaxial or 3 pin XLR AES/EBU digital input. So, as an optical to coaxial converter, the ROOFUL Optical to Coaxial Bi-Directional Converter/Adapter has provided me with an elegant, and cost effective digital interface solution between the Sony DTC-ZE 700, and Tascam DA-30 MKII DAT machines I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone seeking a digital conversion solution where a coaxial to optical, or an optical to coaxial solution is needed. I use this unit to convert coaxial digital output from my CD player to Toslink optical as input to a MEE Audio connect hub in transmit mode. The Bluetooth connectivity allows me to listen through two different two channel systems. The device works very well. I haven't done any critical listening on my main system at this point however, my initial impressions of sound quality on my office system are very good sound. The Bluetooth transmitter allows for both digital optical and analog inputs. This is why there are more wires in the photos than would be needed if I were only using the digital CD output. I set it up this way because the analog vacuum tube output from the CD player is quite good. Depending on the recording and system I am listening through, gives me the option to listen to the onboard CD player DAC, or let the external DACs on the Bluetooth receive side to handle the D/A conversion. I recommend this product. Well made and a great value.

Needed the digital coaxial to optical converter to make the Roku Streambar, or most any new sound bars, work with a tv that had no optical out port. Easy to hook up the separately purchased coax and optical cable plus supplied power source and get the speaker working. This unit is small but the sound seems great coming from the conversion to the speaker with sound bar and side speakers too.The switch that indicates the bi-diraction of the signal was already set to where we needed it, so it couldn't have been simpler. I deducted a star for the time it took in shipping but would add a half star back in if I could, because that was not a big deal to me, just inconvenient. I'd buy another if I ever needed one but most newer tvs come with the right ports these days. We just needed better sound when our old receiver and speakers no longer worked for us on a tv only a few years old that just needed that one thing.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Had to adapt an old TV coax audio output to a new sound bar with only optical. This little guy was plug and play to solve this problem. As noted elsewhere in the comments, driving this adapter's power from the sound bar USB works well to avoid a permanent power on condition. Value for money: Seems like good value for the solution.

Purchased this so I could connect my vintage CD player to my Wiim Pro Plus. Happy to say that the coax in, toslink out work beautifully and my CDs sound so much better now that I'm able to use the DAC from my Wiim. Highly recommend!!! 🙌🥂

Well it's a little metal box (of dimensions, including coax connector socket, L 6cm x W 6cm x H 2cm, that's L 2 3/8" x W 2 3/8" x H 3/4" for the stone-agers) housing a digital signal converter that works precisely as described here on Amazon. It does its job so well, I forgot I even bought it until the retailer contacted me with questions about my experience using it. Well, it does the business and it stays out of the way once you configure it. That's exactly what it should do and it performs this task exceedingly well. Some tiny problems for those who might care about them: * the switch for designating whether the coax or optical is the input feels very flimsy and gummy. It will switch and it'll stay switched, but the quality of this switch lends itself to being set and forgotten. If you need to switch between different input sources, get something else dedicated for that purpose. * the red power LED is unnecessarily powerful. On the bright side, you could use it to examine the shadows of the bones in your hand.

Tested. Products works well. Size was geeat, did not take up space. Recommended!

Superb convert on coaxial to optical. with 5.1 Dolby. worth product. my tv is digital output only on coaxial. but my home theatre available only optical input. i buying this product. perfect convert and performance without delay. thanks to amazon and seller.

Worked like charm on my 55" Mi TV 4X Pro. No loss of audio quality. Might reduce you max volumes a bit, but if your speakers are great, you won't feel a thing. Just go for it.
