Yet keeping them clean is imperative. Cutting and trimming your nails is one of the things that most of us forget or neglect completely because we consider it to be boring or not so important. And subsequently we let them grow and get infected. So keeping them trim is better to avoid any kind of nail problems such as ingrown toenails, spoon-shaped nails and pincer nails.

Cutting edge very sharp but...
Despite being very sharp, I had trouble using these. They would tear my toenail instead of cutting it. So upon close inspection, I noticed that the top sharp edge slipped behind the bottom edge when it closed, although it was just a miniscule amount, I had to assume that was why they tore versus clip my nails. Also, the opening of the jaws were more narrow that the Trim brand I had on hand and even though I don't have thick toenails they were difficult to maneuver the toenail in between the moving jaws.
