This full spectrum hydroponic light is smaller than most I have seen. It's kind of a mini.In the past, I’ve use fluorescent lights for growing plants, but I decided to try LEDs. This one is small and only 5 watts. It’s different from other ones I’ve seen as it has 4 blue LEDs to 1 red LED; others have more red than blue and often 2 types (frequencies) of red light.The bulb is about 2 inches in diameter and about 3 inches in total length. It fits in a standard U.S. light socket. I like the design of the cooling fins quite a bit. They’re aluminum, V shaped with the point of the V to the inside.When I turned it on, it was quite obviously blue in comparison to the others I’ve seen which were more purple. I will have to see how well this actually works in a real trial.Ideally, this light should be great for starting seedlings and/or helping indoor plants make it through the winter in a healthy manner. It’s too early here (zone 6b) to start seedlings for my fall garden. I like the color it gives off even if it does nothing for the plants. I find it very soothing! The bulb arrived as described. It was well packaged and arrived undamaged, as to be expected from Amazon :) I screwed it into a lamp without any issues. All the led's lit up properly. I'm considering ordering the opposite light (amount of red {4} vs. amount of blue{1} ) because I have a 2 sided lamp that sits by one of my large indoor plants. But that's an experiment for another day. As of right now the lamp is everything I expected. I plan on placing it on a bendy arm lamp and putting it near my money tree. It is a delicate plant that does not tolerate direct sunlight very well and I am forgetful when I put it outside so I do not wish to burn it again. I'm having trouble finding the right amount of light because it does requite six to eight hours if indirect light. At my house it's either directly in the sun or nothing at all. I don't really have a safe (from pesky pets! LOL) indirect space for it so I'm hoping this lamp comes to the rescue. I will of course post updates it my plant seems to regain better health from the use of this light. That being said I also don't know if my other conditions are correct for this plant yet so we'll see. I don't plan on changing anything else because that may muddy the results. My theory is if the light is the only issue than I should see results within a week, so I'll give it two just to be safe. Then after the two weeks is up I'll update if the lamp itself has had any impact on my plant's health. I give out 4 stars for the lamp being as advertised. I decided that this year I am going to try and make my Christmas Cactus flower myself instead of giving it to my mom to do it for me and this light will be wonderful. I also decided to grow my own herbs this summer and my kitchen doesn't have a lot of light so my husband took and started my herbs in our basement and we use the light in our indoor garden. This light does exactly what it's supposed to do. I'll update when my herbs are ready to go. I received this product for free for an honest opinion and review.

provides the proper wavelenth colors for my plants. can put in any lamp. LED so its strong and doesnt get hot or use a lot of electricity. love them!
