Chroma

I saw this artiest at the Harlem Arts Fest yesterday, and was impressed. I am not normally a fan of jazz, but I enjoyed what I heard. Of course my review is based on hearing them live. I have yet to hear the album. Petros seems to me to have a little bit of a mix of Weather report, Oregon, with just a touch of yes (as least his guitarist, who by the way was excellent, had a couple Steve Howe moments) in his music, and the drummer has a few extra items on his kit that gave him an extra flare to his sound. On the other hand my friend, Andre, felt that band had a little bit more of a chick corea feel to them then the ones I noted. But regardless Petros was a really nice discovery for the both of us.
