poolrxPool Unit 7.5k-20k gallons (4-Pack), Blue, (331003)

I have a 20K gallon salt water pool in Wichita, KS. When I opened it this season, for the first time ever the water was GREEN. I went to the pool store, bought all their supplies and followed their directions. Expensive and time consuming and not very effective. Turns out I had mustard algae, which is apparently resistant to most chlorine and algaecides (per the internet anyway). They wanted me to buy more of the same stuff and to keep trying. I researched some things and came across Pool RX and I'm so happy I did! Within 48 hours the water was clear and blue again. However, I could still see the mustard algae in the floor of the pool. It's brown and looks like dirt but it's not and you can tell by the way it disperses while brushing. So I brushed everyday for a week and it's nearly gone! And I have my beautiful pool back. It's so clear a pair of ducks decided to visit, LOL. I will definitely be a lifelong purchaser of this product.

Installed pool RX, along with new filters two months ago. It has greatly reduced the amount of chemicals I was using and there are no traces of algae. The water stays crystal clear. An added benefit is no chemical irritation to skin or eyes. Great product!

My pool has been a hassle to keep clear for the past 5 summers from algae. I added this PoolRX to my skimmer for almost 2 months now, and it has been clear ever since. I have not even had to shock the pool once since adding it, when normally I'd be shocking it every week or two. This thing is amazing. The only thing I've done to the pool since is put a chlorine tab in the floater, and vacuum the pool every now and then for debris. This is well worth the money saved in maintenance and headaches!!!

I bought this after my renter didn’t follow the pool care while I was away for a month. I came home to a thick pea green soup in my pool. I ended up closing the pool 3 weeks later because I couldn’t get it clean. The next season, I had a company come in to clean it. It got clear after 20 days, but the algae was a daily struggle. Within 1 week of using Pool RX, my pool was crystal clear, just as it had been the previous 6 seasons. I’ve continued to use 1/season for 3 years and I’ve never seen algae in my pool. I use less chlorine and everything stays balanced. This has truly made care easier.My only complaint is that this year’s batch contains more copper. My pool is really blue which isn’t terrible. What is terrible is that my new white bathing suit is also blue after ONE swim. This has never happened in the 3 years of use.

a little pricey, but easy to use and a nice drop in for ongoing maintenance. usually lasts 120-150 days, so one per summer should be enough for the swimming season.

My pool guy had recommended this stuff to me and offered me a discount on weekly service if I let him use it in my pool. He charged me $90 a year for the PoolRx (which he didn't name, he just called it a "mineral treatment" and I later found out what it was) and discounted my service $10 per month, so it was a net savings for me, it made his job easier, and now I see it probably saved him money on chlorine, too. I later took over the pool maintenance on my own to save money and looked for advice online. I found a very knowledgeable community on a certain website that was full of great advice and pool care tips, but some of the more vocal, condescending members of the forum were very against using any type of mineral additives like Pool Rx and would ridicule anyone that said they were going to. It seemed that more than anything they were stuck in their ways, but they had some credibility and made some plausible arguments against it, so I followed the advice and was using only liquid chlorine to sanitize and keep algae at bay. I was having to shock my pool a lot more than I had liked and the algae still appeared in some areas even though I was keeping my pool at 5 ppm chlorine most of the time. That's higher than I wanted to keep levels at but algae would get bad if I didn't (and yes, stabilizer and Ph were ON POINT). I was going through a lot of chlorine. After about a year of this, I said the heck with it and bought the Pool Rx. Huge difference, right away. I bought the 7.5-20K gallon size for my 22K gallon pool because that was what my pool guy had used. It has worked great and I have had no algae and no problems with chlorine levels kept at 1-1.5 ppm through the hottest 4 months of a Phoenix summer. Chlorine has even dropped to 0.5 ppm a couple of times when I had to go longer than normal between servicing it, but I still had no problems. I have not experienced any of the negatives that the "experts" had warned about. No increased scaling or staining, no green hair, no problems with the pump or equipment. Just clear water, a pool that is easier to maintain, and a pretty good savings on chlorine. I added this canister in May and I plan to add the booster in October, then I'm starting over with another canister next May.

I've been using these little jewels for a couple of years. Never have a problem with algae of any kind. Always keeps the water clean and crystal clear. It's be nice if the cost was a little less, but all in all it's really worth if. They last about 4-6 months.
