If your turned off by the bad reviews don't be! You just need to know how to handle this stuff.The first time I encountered this I was a little stumped. Bought this at a box store in the height of COVID because everything else I'm not allergic to had been sold out for months.First batch fixed per usual method was a disaster, second batch per directions was still a disaster just slightly less so.First tip RINSE it VERY well. This stuff is the most poorly processed quinoa I've ever had but bear with me its worth it in the end.The way I choose to use this is like how you'd use a short grain rice. Risotto, rice pudding, ect because it's loaded with amylopectin (the stuff that makes tapioca.... Well tapioca).I use a 1:4 ratio. So for instance for "rice" pudding I use 1 cup quinoa to 4 cups coconut milk and cook per the usual merhod (all ingredients on the pot bring to a boil, then simmer for about 20 minutes). Raisins, cinnamon, brown sugar, vanilla YUMMM!As soon as i found what worked I sent searching since it dissappeared from local shelves. It's VASTLY overpriced here I paid less than $8 for a bigger bag at the store. But I really love it and when it dropped to $11 I went for it and I'm happy to have it in my cupboard again.

I love quinoa. I cook it in a rice cooker, because that's convenient for me on the road, and also, I've found, in the house. I've used probably 10 different kinds of quinoa, and NorQuin is the only one that turns to mush in my rice cooker. To be fair, the instructions say to boil it like pasta, and to stop cooking after a certain amount of time, and I found the resulting cooked quinoa to be satisfactory, but not great, when I follow those instructions. However, I prefer the versatility of every other brand of quinoa I've tried, so I won't buy this again.

I followed the cooking directions on the packaging which was a different method than I normally make quinoa. It came out almost the texture of tapioca pudding, no real grain separation and gelatinous. I tried cooking again in my regular method and had the same result. I’ll still eat it, the taste is fine, but won’t purchase again because of the texture.

They taste is a little more musky than other brands. It’s not a deal breaker; I just find the flavor comes through in dishes more pronounced.

Delicious! But much different in texture from other quinoas I have purchased. Very gooey and gloppy.

I have never had golden quinoa before so I did not know it was more bitter than white quinoa. I tried rinsing it and that did not make a difference. The texture is also different, while white quinoa is somewhat fluffy, this seems to clump together more and have more of a wet texture. I will finish it but it's not my favorite.

I found the grains to me on the smaller size vs what I typically buy. When I cook it, it cooks faster but is not as fluffy as I’d like it to be.

This quinoa has a unique smell. One that I haven’t experienced with many other brands.

no complaints. cheap enough. when quinoa is on sale at my local grocery store it's cheaper than this tho.

This would be a great product for breakfast porridge, which is what I use it for. No matter how I cook it, it is of porridge consistency, not like any other quinoa I have tried. Too bad, I want to support a Canadian farm. 4 kg is a lot of breakfast when I really want to be making salads and side dishes.

Fast delivery. Great package. I found it worth looking into different methods of cooking. Canadian made. Would buy again. Great price

I have ordered again from this supplier plus it's Canadian grown. I always like to support Canadian farmers whenever I can.
