Get ready to blast off on an outer space adventure! Featuring stunning illustrations and engaging interactivity, this reference book will tap into 4-to-8-year-olds' curiosity about everything under the sun and beyond. This beautiful book is the latest addition to the National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book series. These colorful pages will introduce young children to the wonders of space, with out-of-this-world illustrations by David Aguilar and simple text that is perfect for beginning readers or for reading aloud. The book will explain basic concepts of space, beginning with what is most familiar to kids and expanding out into the universe. Chapters include: • Chapter 1 focuses on the Earth, moon, and sun. • Chapter 2 introduces kids to the other planets in our solar system. • Chapter 3 explains other objects in our solar system, such as dwarf planets, comets, and asteroid belts. • Chapter 4 voyages even farther afield, touching on concepts such as the universe, the Milky Way, stars, galaxies, and black holes. • The last chapter delves into space exploration: humans on the moon, spaceships, the International Space Station, etc. Review: My kid loves it - We love this book ! Great info, layout and graphics. Super fun for all little space lovers. Review: Great buy! - This book is all that we hoped it would be and more. My five-year-old is crazy about space and he could read this book to himself all day. He loves reading it aloud to us and is now randomly spouting facts about space during regular conversation. I think it's perfect for an age range of 5-8 years old. The pictures are high quality and colorful. Information is well-organized with lots of tips and fun things on the side. The paper is also good quality and thick, so it's not easily bent by over-eager little hands. I also like that it creates asks reflective questions that reach out to the child on a personal level. For example, when teaching about orbit, it asks "How many times have you been around the sun? (Hint: how many years old are you?)" This kind of real life association is very helpful for getting children (or anyone, for that matter) to grasp new concepts. Update: We got this for my son a couple of months ago and he's still crazy about it. Normally the novelty would have worn off by now. Instead, he's asking for the other "LIttle Kid's First Big Books". And I'll be happy to indulge him now that I know how great they are!

Great book!
I have 2 granddaughters - 2 and 4. This book is a huge hit. The 2 yr says I be astronaut! I had to get a second book for the 2yr old as both want this as their bedtime story (the 4yr old won’t share).

An informative book about our solar system, perfect for young readers!
This is a reasonably priced but well written book about the space surrounding our planet. Perfect for our grandniece who has expressed an interest in the solar system. National Geographic books are always well written, clear, concise and full of information. This is the perfect birthday gift for her, according to her parents.

Awesome book for All Ages
I love this book! I have a 1.5 and a 4 year old. My four year old has language delay, and we love this book--he brought it to show and tell today. There is A LOT of GOOD information in this book. The photos are gorgeous, the information is so interesting for me to read about, my kid loves it (and can name all of the planets including the belts in our solar system). The first time I read to him, I was really loving all the info and he was listening quietly....I realized it is A LOT of information to take in. So now I read only part of it to him, and I feel like he'll grow into the book more. There are little bubbles/circles withe interesting facts about the topic that I read to him and we talk about what's on the page. We love it and I bought more of the Nat Geo Little Kid books, they're awesome for all ages truly (and even okay for different capabilities). Thank you, truly love these books!! We also got the Ocean one, and love that as well.

My grandson loves this book!
This book is perfect for kids around 4-8 years old and is filled with beautiful, vibrant illustrations. My 5 year-old grandson absolutely loves it! The book introduces a variety complex concepts like the solar system, stars, and galaxies in a way that is both engaging and educational. I love how it's broken into bite-sized sections, making it perfect for short attention spans. National Geographic does it again!

Best books! Engage kids. Pictures & content so well done! BUT pages fall out.
Hands down one of the best books for your space-loving kid (or self). We have multiple of the National Geographic Kids books, and I couldn't praise them enough. The photographs are vibrant, awe-inspiring, and everything you would expect from National Geographic. We love: - how engaging these books are!!! - information is just right. Not too much. - not overly textbook or boring - amazing photographs and graphics - my kids absorbs the information and have practically memorized it all because this book is so well done HOWEVER, We do not love: - The binding is faulty and the pages eventually detach and fall out over time. We keep taping them back in. This has happened with multiple of these books, and it is frustrating. And this is with gentle use. We expect more from National Geographic and hope they remedy this.

So fun for early learners!
This book has ignited an explosion of curiosity & excitement in my small children. Particularly one of my 4 year old twins. He thinks space is so awesome & he spouts out facts he learned from this book.

Ben fatto. Bello.

Captivating
This book is captivating not just for kids but also for adults. As a parent, I enjoy reading it to my 4-year-old son and learning some new things about the Solar system myself. It is a must-buy for parents with a Solar system enthusiast as a child.
