My new morning ritual!
I've tried a lot of matcha over the years, and this one genuinely stands out. The color alone tells you it's good quality: vibrant green, not that dull olive you get with lower-grade stuff. It whisks up smooth with almost no clumping, and the tlavor is naturally sweet and grassy without any of the bitterness or chalky aftertaste I've gotten from cheaper brands. I've been having it every morning either traditionally whisked or as a latte with oat milk, and it gives a calm, steady energy without the jittery crash I get from coffee. A little goes a long way too, so the tin lasts longer than I expected. Packaging arrived well sealed and fresh. You can really taste the difference quality matcha makes. Highly recommend if you're looking to upgrade your matcha game. This is now a staple in my kitchen.

Smooth, Well-balanced Matcha That Is Easy to Enjoy
I really enjoyed FKRO’s Pinnacle Okumidori Ceremonial Reserve Matcha. The first thing I noticed when I opened it was the aroma. It smelled really fragrant with chocolate, nutty, and green tea notes. It also has such a nice vibrant green color and whisked up so easily into a smooth consistency. With oat milk, the flavor blended so well and really complemented the milk. In my opinion, you don’t need much sweetener to enjoy this matcha, as the flavor is so well-balanced that it comes through in the milk without getting lost or being too bold. The nutty notes really shine when paired with oat milk, creating a smooth, nutty flavor profile with a gentle green tea taste and just a hint of bitterness. I also tried the matcha on its own with just water to get the full flavor profile. The umami notes stood out right away, followed by subtle nuttiness in the background, then a light vegetal green tea flavor with a little bitterness and a touch of astringency, but nothing that felt overpowering. Overall, I think this is a really enjoyable matcha with a well-balanced taste. It doesn’t take much tweaking to appreciate the flavor.

Incredible quality. Zero bitterness and super vibrant green.
I drink matcha every single day and have tried tons of brands, but this Ujitawara Reserve from FKRO is on a completely different level. You can immediately tell it's high quality just from how vibrant green the powder is. The flavor is amazing—it has a really bold, rich umami taste with a smooth, creamy texture and absolutely zero bitterness. I learned that it's made from a rare heirloom cultivar (Okumidori) and is hand-picked from the first harvest, and you can honestly taste the difference. It whisks up perfectly with almost no astringency. It's definitely a premium ceremonial matcha, but it is worth every penny if you want a clean, high-end ritual at home. I got this on Amazon and will definitely keep repurchasing it. Highly recommend!

The review you have all been waiting for
I absolutely love this brand & their ceremonial grade matcha! It smells absolutely amazing, the taste is very creamy & sweet. The spread on this lives up to their pictures (i had been searching for people to post pictures on the spread but could never find one on any matcha review). My IPhone camera automatically has some what of a saturated filter on it? so in real life this matcha definitely has a subtle brown tint to it… BUT i found that their zip lock okumidori matcha has a way more vibrant green than this tin can matcha. They both taste equally the same tho. I think i would probably purchase their zip lock next time just to play it safe, but it still taste the same lol. (I also make matcha lattes with this matcha & it is DELICIOUS). Now lets talk about price. When i was in japan i purchased TWO HUNDRED GRAMS of kyoto matcha for about ¥3,500 ; thats about $20 USD. Definitely a huge price difference, but obviously we have to think about international shipments that this company (FKRO) gets their supply from. I do still think that its way overpriced because i can order the same matcha i got in kyoto for $20, plus shipment fees of $30 (also thats express shipping, so i will get it in about 3 days)… Now, if i buy two 30grams of FKRO matcha… that comes out to $50, but i can get TWO HUNDRED GRAMS for $50. All matcha on amazon is a scam in my opinion but it doesnt change the fact that this one is absolutely delicious LOL. Thankyou for coming to my Ted Talk.

Beautiful Color & Smooth Flavor
I’ve really been enjoying this matcha! The first thing I noticed was the beautiful, vibrant green color, which is always a great sign of quality. It whisked up smoothly after mixing it with a little water and created a creamy, delicious latte with a fresh, rich flavor. I also appreciated that it wasn’t overly bitter, making it easy to enjoy with milk and a touch of sweetener. If you’re looking for a high-quality ceremonial matcha that’s vibrant, smooth, and perfect for lattes, I definitely recommend giving this one a try :)

On my third tin, and yes it really is that green!
The care and craftsmanship that went into this ceremonial matcha are obvious, which is exactly why I’ve already purchased it THREE times now. I uploaded a side by side comparison with another brand just to show the difference (the other tin is one that I would drive hours to purchase well no more driving for me) the FKRO powder has an incredible, vibrant green color that completely blows away the duller, yellowish competitor. Its so much nicer.... It proves it was properly shaded and stone ground from premium leaves. I specifically use this for my morning iced lattes EVERY MORNING. The powder is exceptionally fine and sifts smoothly. When whisked, it incorporates effortlessly without leaving chalky clumps at the bottom of the glass. The flavor profile is outstanding it has a deep, smooth richness with a natural sweetness and absolutely no harsh bitterness. It balances with my milk while maintaining its traditional character. It is an exceptional tea that honors the dedication of the traditional producers in Japan. So in honor of how this tea has saved me so much driving out of respect I have taken some nice quality photos and a video to show the outstanding quality for the money. It really is that green!

FRKO matcha review
It is good for someone who enjoys a more pronounced bitterness and astringency in their matcha. Has a sweet and slightly roasted aroma. The matcha is a bit overpriced for the quality.

This is my new go-to!
I am so impressed by this matcha! The first thing I noticed was how incredibly vibrant green it is so you can tell it’s high quality. It whisks up beautifully and has such a smooth texture with very little bitterness. I also love the flavor. It has a naturally creamy, nutty taste that makes it delicious on its own or in a matcha latte. Knowing it’s USDA Organic, first harvest, ceremonial reserve grade, and sourced from Uji, Japan makes it feel even more premium. If you’re looking for a smooth, vibrant, high-quality matcha, I definitely recommend giving this one a try!
