New update - another yearWell, the heavy rains we're experienced in California finally penetrated the clock. I have about three inches of water inside the plastic cover of the front of the clock. The clock still runs, but it is losing time and looks odd. Oh well, on the search for a reasonably priced outdoor clock.UPDATE - almost a year later.I don't notice the scuff mark. It is mounted high enough that it just isn't visible to me.It made it through the winter without a problem. It is mounted in a spot where heavy rain could reach it and it did not fail me. Upgrading my review to four stars. Oh, by the way, it keeps excellent time!I needed a clock that I could place outdoors and this looked decent. I received it quickly, but noticed two things:- there is a scuff mark towards the top of the face that, when looked straight on, mars the surface and somewhat obscures the upper numerals. It doesn't come off - it was from the clock rubbing against the packaging during shipment. I mount the clock somewhat high on the wall so that I don't see the scuffing, but it shouldn't be there.- this outdoor clock is not protected in any meaningful way against the elements. The back of the clock, where the 'works' are, is completely open to any rain that could fall on the clock. I don't know how this clock is listed as an outdoor clock - it would fail in the first rainstorm.The clock looks nice (other than the scuff marks) and has a pleasant sweep hand. It was inexpensive and will last exactly one summer and will die in the first rainstorm of the fall, unless I remember to bring it inside.

I got this because I needed an outdoor clock and the description said it was an indoor/outdoor clock, but there is nothing about it to suggest it will withstand outdoor exposure. In fact the battery is totally exposed on the back of the clock, along with the dials to set the clock. I am really doubting this clock will survive the weather. So far it is keeping time, and it looks nice. But it feels like it is made of a really cheap plastic, and it just doesn't feel like it is going to be durable. I would not have bought this clock for outside if I had seen it in person.

Total garbage!! Goes through batteries very quickly. Does not matter if lithium, carbon, or alkaline. I tried all with very poor battery life. After 4 1/2 months the minute and hour hands both fell off. It was not subjected to any inclement weather, rain, etc. I would have put up with batteries that only lasted a few weeks, but for no reason the hands fell off. Just garbage. Wish I could give it zero stars.

So far so good. Put this in the feed room in my barn . It is sbject to the summer heat. winter cold and all the dust found in a desert horse facility. Hoping it will last ! It is smooth running, quiet and the numbers are easy to read.

Love this delightful easy to read clock. And it's absolutely silent.

Nice idea ---- noiseless clock. However, it no longer works after 8 months. Clocks normally last a few years; batteries have been changed three times. I wouldn't recommend this clock!
