I live in a bungalow with the router in the living room about 30 feet away from the bedrooms. With a solid block and stone construction the house is rather unfriendly to wireless connections and using a laptop in the back rooms can be rather hit and miss with only a single bar on the wireless connection and regular drops of signal. I wanted an easier way to boost that signal without spending hundreds of pounds on boosters or having the hassle of running cat7 cabling through the house.This item, although I was dubious when I bought them, has worked perfectly. Plugged into the USB3 port on the laptop I didn't have to do anything to set it up. Windows found the item, installed a driver and switched to using it without any issue. Signal strength was lifted from a dodgy one bar up to four bars. Just the kind of improvement I was hoping for. Now, okay, that might mean that I'm working at wireless speeds rather than the faster cat7. But, it's instant and if I need the higher speed I can move and connect to a cable in the living room. But for the evenings, nights, or moments when I'm too unwell to inflict myself on the rest of the family it's perfect. I can continue with whatever I'm doing without the worry of the signal dropping out.The item is quite intrusive and hulks on the side of the laptop. I suspect that this position is quite fragile, so it probably won't survive getting knocked about, potentially damaging the item and/or laptop. But leave it alone, don't bang it, bash it or knock it around and it should be fine.At the end of the day it works perfectly, boosts the wireless signal for my laptop and saved my hundreds of pounds in booster aerials around the house. Perfect solution and worth every penny. I bought one for my daughter as well and as far as I can tell, that is working in a similar fashion on her laptop. So, happy teenager as well, you can't ask for more.

Der Wlan Stick funktioniert gut. Ich hatte vorher ein AVM Fritz AC 860. Der ist teuer und sehr leistungsschwach.Dieser hier hat hingegen ein viel stärkeren Empfang und läuft sehr Stabil. Ich würde ihn wieder kaufen.

I bought this for the 5Ghz connection speed for my old laptop.At 5Ghz it works great but at 2.4Ghz it kept dropping its connection.For me its a worthwhile upgrade.
