Candyman (1992) (Collector's Edition) (4K UHD)

This 4K UHD Looks Great, but you got to Watch Shout Factory because some Movies they have been putting out look like Crap!Just watch 4K UHD movies like RoboCop and LifeForce, they look Terrible! The Colors, Saturation and Crispness are Low End! The Regular Blu-ray’s Look Better.Really Enjoyed this Original Candyman and it came with the Directors Cut in 4kUHD as a Bonus!

Movie looks nice HDR looks nice but on the 4k disc the movie freezes up and starts back up only in some scenes it's very annoying.

While the the transfer is beautiful, the discs have scratches and smudges on them. The movie occasionally glitches here and there as well. I’ve read reviews elsewhere about Scream Factory’s 4K Candyman transfer, so my experience isn’t mine alone. I love this movie (it’s one of my favorite films in general regardless of genre), but the scratched discs that causes scenes to skips and the glitching that occurred while viewing the movie is annoying.

So the biggest flaw with this film is the story.They try and say Candyman has to remain in the minds of the people to remain powerful. But if you summon him he ends you. Soooooooo, how is this supposed to work? He only ends those who know who he is.If they just tweaked the story where someone summons him and he solves their problems for a price. Or hunts down the family members of those who wronged him it would work.The other problem is the hook... you aren't slicing anyone open with that thing.

Great 4K scan/remaster with Dolby Vision/HDR for the grading of this classic '92 psychological horror,with Tony Todd as the title character.The sound also got an upgrade to Dolby Atmos, next to the orginal stereo mix and a DTS-HD MA 5.1.The 4K disc is the same as the Arrow Video release, when i saw the menu screen.Both version of the film are on this disc as well, you also get the 2 Blu-ray (region A) discs as released earlier by Scream Factory, only now you get the upgraded sound for both discs to Dolby Atmos.Highly recommended for any horrorfan, or if you want to go for a perfect upgrade.

This is an incredible transfer to 4K, the HDR is incredible, the atmos soundtrack offers great surround effects. The film itself is worth a pickup which is the most important part - we don’t often get interesting horror films anymore.

Like others I have issues with the 4K disc glitching which takes you out of the experience.
