It weighs!
It weighs and zeros as it should! A bit plasticy, but very well priced.

Sleek and great value!
The media could not be loaded. A small set of kitchen scales which pack a punch!Firstly the look. They are a modern and sleek looking scale in a matte black with a shiny black LED display panel. Quite small at 20cm x 17cm so bear this in mind if you only have huge mixing bowls. After switching them on, pressing the ‘unit’ button on the left swaps the measurements between g/kg/oz/lb:oz so you can select your preferred measure. They will weigh up to a huge 15kg! They work on 3 x AAA batteries which are already included. When weighing your ingredients, if you wish to ‘zero’ the weight after each addition just press the ‘Tare’ button (same button as power button)To switch off press the power button again for a few seconds until the screen goes off. Or they will auto turn off after 2 minutes to save the battery.A really great set of scales at a very competitive price.

Good basic scales
For years we got by with a set of manual analogue scales, with a dial display, which work but are a bit bulky, with a small platform on the top and hard to read. That was never much of a problem until I started getting into baking and needing quantities that are between the markings on the old scales - so I thought something like this might be better, and it is.The platform is bigger than I am used to so I can put my mixing bowls on it, and it takes up hardly any space in our cramped kitchen cupboards. As for the looks, this is very basic and not flashy at all. It does actually go with our black kitchen, but since the scales will live in the cupboard most of the time it wouldn't matter anyway.Normally I would take this into the lab at work to check accuracy against our set of calibrated weights, but with working from home that isn't an option, so I tried weighing things like bags of flour and packs of butter and the results seemed to be accurate.Best of all is the tare function so when I am mixing up flour and sugar for biscuits or suet and flour for dumplings I no longer have to do any awkward arithmetic. As I said, these are very basic scales. There are only two buttons one for on/off and zeroising the reading and another to change units between metric or imperial. They are functional, but priced accordingly and I think they are good value for the price.

Slick & Lightweight Kitchen Scales With A Maximum 15 Kg Capacity
This set of kitchen scales differs from my present set and indeed ones I’ve had in the past in that this particular model can cater for weights up to 15 kg or 33 lbs in old money. That does seem a bit of overkill if you seldom bake anything more than the occasional Victoria sponge or weigh out vegetables for a pot of soup. However, having said that, I can see its usage in like a small to medium sized catering business where larger quantities are the norm. Power to the device is by three 1.5 volt ‘AAA’ batteries which are included with the unit and when the batteries start to lose power over time, the display will show a ‘Lo’ battery warning. There is also an automatic shutdown after 2 minutes if the scales are left inactive. It’s quite a smart looking set of kitchen scales, very modern looking and rather fetching in black I might add, but does it weigh consistently and accurately under constant use?To be fair, a gram in weight either side of a particular ingredient isn’t going to alter the taste of your soup or the rising quality of any sponge cake you might endeavour to bake but accuracy is nonetheless important. As it turned out, when testing with some known weights, there was sometimes, but not always, a fluctuation of around plus or minus one gram. On the digital display, slightly to the right of the ‘Unit’ button, you will see a small circle appear when you weigh a product and also when the scale is empty. Do not take a reading or place anything on the scale until you see this dot and once I had realised this, the scales seemed to settle down to a more uniform accuracy with repetitive weighing. There are 4 different weighing units to choose from with these scales, grams, kilograms, ounces and pounds and ounces. Selection of each mode is attained by pressing the ‘UNIT’ button on the left side of the scales. Response time to each click is pretty much instant and the readability of the 50 x 20 mm digital display is extremely sharp and clear. There is only 16 cm / 6¼ inches between the back of the weighing platform and the digital readout so you have to choose your containers carefully, however, having said that, I managed to successfully weigh some ingredients using a 24 cm / 9½ inch plate, but I did have to shuffle it around a bit to be able to see the digital readout comfortably. In summary, these scales are lightweight but yet feel robustly built enough to last the distance and they have a nice modern look to them. I have to confess to being a wee bit disappointed in the negligible fluctuations of the digital readout regarding the true weight of the ingredient on the platform, but from a purely personal point of view, I don’t believe this to be a deal breaker for me.

Excellent quality kitchen scales
I do a lot of cooking and sometimes have to measure out small amounts, under 10g in weight. Manual scales can be hard to read for small amounts. I have another electric scale, but it doesn't work very well for small amounts. These scales are very accurate and easy to use. They do not come with a bowl, but this is not an issue as I have several. The scales have a large surface measuring area if you are weighing something large, and the digital display is not easily blocked when I put a bowl on it, it is easy to read. These are very simple scales to use. There is one button to choose the measurements out of lb,oz,kg,grams. The other side is the on/off button that also returns the measurements to zero if you are weighing something else. These scales are good, because they don't turn themselves off quickly if you are trying to weigh out your ingredients. The display stays on for quite a while. These scales are rectangular and slender, so do not take up much room. They came complete with batteries, ready to use. They are easy to wipe clean. These are excellent scales and good value for money.
