Works for Me
This is the MG-217 that used to be in a bottle and it works for me. In the bottle it was called MG 217 Psoriasis, with the same ingredients. What they are now calling MG 217 Psoriasis Therapeutic Shampoo has different ingredients and irritated my scalp. Both are 3% coal tar.

It definitely does the job, it’s just not like a regular shampoo
I have a very sensitive scalp. At least once a year, I’d go through a months long period of having unbearable itchiness and flakes to the point that I’d get sores on my scalp. I’ve also have been dealing with an immense amount of stress the past few years and have lost quite a bit of hair.I’ve been using this shampoo for 4 months now and it has drastically helped my hair and scalp. The hair loss has significantly decreased, and my scalp only feels a little itchy when it’s time to wash. My hair even feels like it’s growing a little faster and the new growth feels so much softer. I do my best to only wash my hair only every 6-7 days to avoid dryness. The only thing about this shampoo is that 1.) it is pretty runny, so be careful not to pour the whole bottle out! And 2.) (which is to be expected of dandruff shampoos) the smell at first is a little strong and off putting. If you use conditioner afterwards, it definitely won’t be an issue.

Too many superlatives come to mind about this shampoo
This is such a fantastic shampoo that I don't know where to start. First, which is arguably the most important, is that it doesn’t stink. Like at ALL. You may smell a bit when washing (and that's a maybe), but thay typcial coal tar smell you get with other shampoos after getting out of the shower will not be there. Even when your hair is dry, you will not be able to tell you used a coal tar shampoo. Two, the shampoo actually helps your scalp. It works well, though if your condition is severe you may need additional help with other meds. Make sure you use a bottle that will distribute it directly to your scalp, then lather and leave on for several minutes. I use a bottle that has the pointy thing at the end and put the shampoo in there.Three, it's makes your hair look beautiful! Or is it just me? I just got done telling my husband that this is the best looking my hair has looked in a long time and it's all thanks to this shampoo. Not the expensive ones you buy at Sephora.Four, my hair doesn't get oily quickly after using this. Huge plus! All around a fantastic shampoo, in general, with the added bonus of helping with scalp psoriasis and/or seborrheic dermatitis.

Good price, works well, strong smell to be expected
I find this stuff works really well and it's much cheaper than the type I was using before. It does have a thin consistency, but I don't mind it, actually it makes it easier for me to apply. The way I do it, I apply it on my dry scalp using a hair dye applicator bottle with a pointed tip (like you could find in a beauty supply store or box dye kit). Shake the shampoo really well first, and then put the amount you estimate using into the dye applicator bottle. Then I use the pointed tip of the bottle to go down my scalp in rows, much like if you were dying your roots, only it doesn't have to be that precise. Either periodically while applying or after I've applied it all, I massage it around on my scalp to make sure I cover any spots that I might have missed with the bottle. Then I put my hair up in a bun and wait anywhere from 20 or 30 minutes to an hour. After the times up I get in the shower and lather it up and wash it out like normal and follow with a good smelling regular shampoo to try to banish the smell (though I find I can sometimes still smell it faintly anyway). Still, I'll take the faint smell over flakes and sores on my scalp any day, and I haven't found another type of product that works as well as the tar.If it's your first time using this type of product you'll need to build up the amount of time you leave it on your scalp for so that you don't end up irritating your scalp worse. (And obviously there's no point of leaving it on longer if it works well enough at a shorter time). I have very long naturally dry hair, so I don't like to wash it too often, but washing too infrequently causes worse scalp issues. That's why I like the method of leaving it on longer, which seems to work better and allow me to get by with less washing. It does have a strong smell, but I can't count that against it since I suspect it's due to the active ingredient, coal tar, which is providing the desired effect, since all coal tar shampoos I've tried have a similar strong smell.

It works on dandruff but doesn’t smell good
Fixes dandruff, but makes users smell like a creosote treated power/telephone pole. If your sweetie struggles with dandruff this very well may be the ticket, but forget about burying your face in her hair and remembering that night at the beach. All your nose gets is chemicals. But you can set your mind at ease about strangers sniffing her hair for pleasure, that’s off the table.

Not high quality.
I thought it would be thicker being in a squeeze tube. It has the consistency of water so be prepared. Very strong chemical smell and not as pleasant as other brands. I would suggest staying away from this product.

Thin and liquidy
Works well, but it’s very think and liquidy so it’s hard to handle as a “shampoo”

Product is great. Packaging is not.
I’ve been using this shampoo for my scalp psoriasis for years. It works great. However, they recently changed the container, and the new one is awful. It’s really difficult to get product out. I haven’t found another product that works nearly as well, so I’ll deal with it. But I hope they find an alternative soon.
