PERFECT REPLACEMENT BATTERY FOR TOSHIBA SATELLITE S855!

Prior batttery finally gave up and PC kept shutting down, this came in two days, works perfectly!
My vintage Toshiba is now in it's third battery, and this one was really easy. It came 80% charged, so I was able to install it and start using my laptop again immediately.My one concern is relatively low battery life, only 2 1/2 hours from fully charged to fully empty. That's MUCH less than the original Toshiba battery. We'll see how it does in coming weeks.

OEM performance
This battery matches the dimensions of the OEM Toshiba battery and fit my laptop without problems. Packaging was above average with a well fitting box and anti-static air pack enclosing the battery. Charging and usage instructions are included and the battery arrived with 90% charge and on AC power, charged to full capacity in twenty minutes. On the charged battery, the laptop ran for two hours, downloading and installing software updates (non-SSD, with a reboot) and still had 50% capacity. After a second recharge, the battery lasted four hours in the laptop playing audio files. My only issue is that the black plastic doesn't match the silver of my laptop.

Great battery for the price.
Replaced the exact battery that was purchased less than 2 years ago. I realize two years is about the life of a battery but the way it went out was the issue. Seemed to have shorted out and shut the computer down. Alls good and I wrote it up to a fluke and bought same battery again.

Laptop will not boot with this battery installed. Power light flashes red.
Can't recommend this. I purchased this listed as used like new. It came in an original box and looks unused. Fits my Toshiba L875 laptop perfectly. It has the same part number as my old battery. But it does not work. The power light flashes red slowly. And my laptop will not turn on with this battery installed. Fortunately my old battery still works. My owner's manual says a red flashing power light means a defective battery or power supply. Since my laptop runs fine with the old battery my power supply is clearly still fine.

Great replacement for original battery
This laptop had not had a 'working' battery for some time. It just would not hold a charge. The new one was perfect, fit exacly, charged easily, and gives over 2 and a half hours battery life now.For people with modern laptops with much longer battery life this mnay seem trivial, but this is as good as this laptops battery has EVER been!Highly reccomended.
