This is the second dog door I have bought this year and we are only in February! I used to have the Staywell 4 way locking flap and found this to be an excellent product but it was discontinued. Reviews of the 2 way Staywell flap seemed to be rather mixed and I was concerned that the flap would be strong enough based on these reviews so opted for the Staywell heavy duty aluminium in large size. This involved changing the bottom panel of my door because of the different apperture. The door was a disaster - it just blew open all the time letting a draught in and making the house very cold. I have now bought the Ferplast door and had to have yet another panel fitted to my door. The door was fitted by a handyman with a lot of experience in fitting cat/dog flaps so I cannot comment on that except to say that he made it look easy! The tunnel section needed to be trimmed down to fit the depth of my door panel.The door frame appears quite large, in comparison to the Staywell aluminium one, but looks quite smart in the white door.The door has a very positive close position, it is rather noisy as it closes and swings back and forth especially after the labrador has gone through. My concern from the appearance of this door is that it will not prove sturdy enough but only time will tell if this is well founded.I have 3 cats and a terrier as well as the labrador and they have absolutely no difficulty with this dog flap.I will repost at some stage to inform on whether it has been a successful purchase because I have had such a struggle to get any useful, informed advice about the subject of dogflaps ansd it has cost me a lot of money making uninformed purchases!Update 18/04/2012.I am really pleased with this flap - we have had all weather types now from high winds and driving rain to a really hot spell and this dog door has performed extremely well.It isn't quiet as it closes but it does close every time and most importantly stays closed!Update 28/10/2012 - dog flap has a break in the U frame. Currently still closes but I am not as confident that it will last.

Service is excellent and cat flap too . Just we have 2 cats one inside and other likes to go out . If you have cat or cats that go out then this is suitable as it only un locks when coming in and remains un locked for going out on in setting .

Very easy to install and it works, took my cat Tilly a little while to get used to it but now has no problem using it

Only lasted a month. Left it in the locked position while not at home and an hour later found our dog in the garden with the pet flap broken.Plastic is quite weak. Our dog is 28kg and not too prone in damaging things. Wouldn't recommend under any circumstances for a big dog.

Had an earlier model of this unit which had a magnetic seal all around instead of just the two sides and worked like a charm for about 8 long years. Then the magnetic seal on the flap broke off and would not stay shut. So ordered the same model but now the design has changed and the magnet for keeping it shut is just on the sides making it a weaker hold and more prone to open with wind.Installing was relatively easy though the instructions on how to cut the tunnel are wrong. The template provided which suggests to use the cuts to mark the lines around the tunnel is not intuitive. While it actually says that you must add 8mm to the measurement of the thickness of the door (Y), the template indicates that for thickness Y use each corresponding side. It is wrong however because the template should have taken into account the additional 8 mm but it doesnt. Needless to say that i ended up with a tunnel a bit shorter than it should have been for a perfect fit.As a flap, yes it is a bit noisy but i do hope that it will last as long as the first one did. Two small dogs and a cat use it and they very easily learned how to.

Nice catflap. Not totally draft proof and unfortunately a bit noisy.

First of all, I can't get this to read ANY of my cat's chips. I can't even get it to read the "chip" collar they sent with it. According to the instructions, I am doing everything right. Press "memory" button once. Hold cat within the door for at least 30 seconds. Door is supposed to "un-lock". It does not. Battery is working, green light is blinking...I have reached out to the company. If they can resolve this I will amend my review, but as for now, this thing does not work.

Minha gata aprendeu rápido a usar! Mostrei como funcionava pra ela e ela tentou entrar e sair pela portinhola e me surpreendeu quando começou a passar sem eu ter que adestrar!

Gostei muito dessa portinha para gatos, meu gato tem 6 kg e passou justinho, se engordar mais vai sentir dificuldade... Retirei os imãs das laterais do acrílico transparente para que a porta abra mais fácil e não faça barulho para não assustar os gatos que ainda estão se adaptando. Chamei um marceneiro para fazer o corte. Excelente custo benefício!

The media could not be loaded. Demorou um pouco para ia meus gatos acostumarem, mas estão usando bastante.Tive que tirar o ímã pois se não eles achariam que estava fechada...A instalação foi tranquila(a minha porte é de aço),vem com a medida certa para cortar no próprio manual.

Super bem embalado, chegou antes do previsto, e é exatamente como nas imagens do anúncio! A portinha tem fechamento com imã, que ajuda a não bater sozinha e impede o vento de entrar, é bem leve e do tamanho ideal pra quem tem um gato grande.
