Tried a few different air fryers and this one is the best of the bunch
I've tried a few different air fryers, two of which were no-name brand units. I figured, save a buck or two, they can't be all that different, right? Also the larger size appealed to me, so I bought one which worked alright but had a drawer that was very hard to shut. The second one I bought of a different brand had a better design, but didn't cook remotely as good as the first one. I determined through my first two purchases that I liked the concept of air frying, but I wanted an air fryer that worked well with good design. I made the choice to buy the Philips HD9641 from Warehouse Deals in Like New condition. Upon receiving it, the fryer appeared to be unused and never unboxed. I also bought the grilling accessory at the same time. After using it for about a week, it's night and day better than the no name brand units. The build quality is much better, the heft of the fryer is better and the overall performance is much better. I've cooked a variety of foods and I could immediately tell the difference in quality. Food browned better, cooked faster, stayed juicier and the design was much easier to live with. The electronics seem to be solid and they work very well. About the only downside is the capacity. It has plenty of capacity to cook for two people in most cases, but any more than that and you'll probably be doing batches. I'm still amazed at how quickly food cooks. I mean I can go from forming a turkey burger patty to eating in it about 10 minutes. That includes adding cheese and the buns to the air fryer for the last minute. Cooking time is about six minutes at 375 degrees and the patty will have a nice brown crisp on the edges. Cleanup is easy as well. I've bought a lot of kitchen gadgets over the years, but the speed, results, and easy cleanup, mean this will be a well used appliance in my kitchen. I find myself using the grilling accessory for most of my cooks, since it's easier to clean and easier to remove food. Also, I'd recommend a 6- 7" non-stick cake pan to go along with this. You can make a really nice omelette that is super fluffy and perfectly cooked. I had considered a replacement toaster oven with an air fry mode, but after reading about cleanup headaches, I decided on a dedicated unit. No regrets with my decision, other than I wish I had just bought this one first.

Must have appliance
I was skeptical to add another kitchen appliance, but after I heard praises about Air friers for more than a year, I decided to go for it. I have not been disappointed. It is everything it claims to be. Super easy to use and to clean. I have used it for salmon and tilapia, I mist it with a bit of olive oil, few minutes later you have crispy fish in the outside, moist inside. No smoke, no turning, no burned patches. We also tried chicken wings, and fries. Also frozen breaded chicken breast pieces, make a fast dinner in a salad. There are many air friers out there. Do your home work on which size is good for you or your family. After reading many reviews I settled for this one: the quality seems solid, and the turbo technology seems to help where you don’t really need to do the interrupted “ shaking” of the basket thing. Also invest in some of the accessory trays, it’s worth it. It adds extra space and choices. The only thing I haven’t used it for is baking, but that is my next project. You also have to play with the temperature and time settings, to get your food done the way you want it. So far, very satisfied !

My thoughts on the standard size Philips AirFryer HD9641/96
I'm a newbie at AirFrying but I have some thoughts specifically about the standard size Philips AirFryer models. I have the Philips 9641/96 (USA model with the improved V2 airflow technology) with the Dual Level Rack and Grill accessories. This model Philips is expensive, if you buy at list price, but I see them discounted regularly. Yes, they are more costly than other AirFryers, however there are reasons why. In my limited AirFryer experience (4 weeks) I've cooked bacon (with the dual level rack), steakhouse style baked potatoes, French fries, curly fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, Parmesan asparagus, Hasselback potatoes, tiny chickens (Cornish Game Hens here in the USA), buttermilk chicken tenders, buffalo wings, frozen potstickers, chicken thighs and honey roasted carrots. All have come out quite good, even with the stock recipes from the Philips recipe book or from Internet recipes where I've compared several approaches and taken the average time/temps. The Design I've watched a bunch of YouTube videos about AirFrying and note that most of the non-Philips airfryers either have large holes in the main basket or none at all. The Philips baskets have a mesh bottom and a wide trough around the inner basket, which I believe allows greater airflow to evenly and quickly heat the food based on the fact that I don't need to toss recipe ingredients as frequently as with other AF designs to achieve even cooking results. The unique starfish air circulation design doesn't appear to just be hype. I also chose this 'advanced' model as it's supposed to have improved V2 airflow and a slightly smaller counter footprint. This Philips model is VERY quiet. The cooking basket and accessories are non-stick but are not Teflon, I believe. Philips AF comes only with a std basket with mesh bottom panel. The good news is that the std Philips design allows maximum airflow during cooking the majority of things while optional (bad new$) accessories like the grill and deep cooking pan give you the flexibility to cook more foods in the same device with max efficiency. This was certainly a design choice and I've come to appreciate the path that Philips took, even though it cost me more to acquire the optional accessories. Cleaning, which you should do after every cook, is exceptionally easy as the basket comes completely apart (basket frame, handle and mesh screen bottom) for scrubbing over the sink. You can put the parts in the dishwasher but I prefer to quickly hand wash them. Things that annoy me The capacity is modest, although the dual level rack does expand the capacity for some recipes. It's perfect for one or possible two people, but would not serve a family of 4 (I know Philips offers a larger model). I look at the modest capacity as a way to enforce portion control for myself. But the Std size models would work nicely for a family as a second oven for side dishes, quick meals for kids or dessert. Second, the temperature only increments 25F at a time. I would prefer to be able to set more specific temps, however I note that adjusting the cook time seems to compensate quite well for temps that are only close to times I see in online recipes. Things I've learned I LOVE the speed of counter top convection cooking and the use of less fats in my cooking. I use an oil MISTER, which produces a more delicate mist than other oil sprayers that seem to default to a gloppy stream after a few sprays. I'm hoping to enjoy some energy savings by not having to heat up a full oven to cook a single baked potato or sheet pan of roasted vegetables and chicken breast. Summary I think that this Philips AF offers well thought out design and exceptional quality, albeit at premium pricing. I'd recommend the Philips AF if the capacity meets your needs and if you're not too price sensitive. -- Remember, you only buy it once and it will last for years.

Great purchase
We bought this in 2017. Honestly, we didn't use it much for the first couple of years. As we adopted it as a go-to appliance it's become one we use about every day. A reliable workhorse for the last five years, at least. Well worth it.

Wow!!! This really works!
I was skeptical about buying an Air Fryer, thinking..."one more gadget...isn't this the same as my convection oven. Am I really going to use this?" The answer is a resounding "yes". How can you beat going from frozen solid to the plate in 8 minutes, with that crispy, fried texture and taste? That's what happened with chicken tenders and french fries. I have even toasted bread in it and it works like a charm. I did a lot of research before settling on this Phillips one and I'm glad I did. It is smaller, relatively to others in terms of how much space it occupies on the kitchen counter and its clean design makes it look nice vs. being an eye sore. It is quiet and very easy to use. After reading a few pages on the instruction guide, I've been good to go, just turning a knob like if I were using a microwave. It is very easy to pull apart and clean. Overall - great purchase. If you have children that come home starving from school, this is a must. I think I'll be training my 10 year old to use it on his own soon!

You get what you pay for
An outstanding product that delivers on its intended use. Whether you are crisping a croissant, or making lamb shanks and roasted carrots; this thing can do everything a full convection oven does. It's faster, easier and almost foolproof. Perfect size for one or two people. The word "fryer" is almost meaningless. This is really a compact convection oven. I've yet to use any oil other than what you might use to toss carrots in that you are going to roast. We literally use it every day. Excels at frozen convenience products such as chicken wings, chicken and fish for great sandwiches. Great chicken nuggets. I would highly recommend the Americas Test Kitchen cookbook Air Fryer Perfection. It gives tested recipes that showcase the full range of what this can do. Temperature and time are important for good results, and this book has nailed it.

Perfectly Cooked Food without The Mess
I bought this for my parents for Christmas. I like that it is a name brand that I can trust. My parents have emailed me three times in the last week to tell me how much they love this. They have cooked frozen sausage in only nine minutes and said that the outside came out crispy and inside tender and juicy. Cooking salmon is perfect and pork chops too. Not only is the food coming out perfectly, they said cleanup is the easiest it’s ever been. You don’t have a stove top with splattered oil all over the place. You just pull out The drawer and wash it in the sink and put it back. Unlike cooking on a stove top which includes having to not only clean the pan but the entire stove area and you don’t have that with this air fryer. It is super easy, convenient, and clean up is a snap. This was definitely a winning gift for my parents who are tough customers.

Perfect deep fryer
I just love this air fryer. It does a perfect job of air frying. It is more expensive than most air fryers and it is well worth the extra money. I dropped my first one and parts fell off of it so I ended up buying a second one. The second one came with a grease trap that works really well. Honestly, I’ve been super happy with making pork medallions, fish, chicken, french fries, tater tot‘s, and whatever else you like fried. I’ve put bacon in there a few times and it really makes big mess. I don’t recommend making bacon in this thing. Everything else though, trust me, is really cooked perfectly. Now, one thing to know is that if you have a big family, more than three people… This will not be large enough and you will need to have two of these units but it is perfect for a family of three.

Cooks without oil and is fast
it's a great air fryer! bought it on Prime Days and we are so happy with the purchase. So far we have made chicken wings, homemade chicken strips, sliced fennel, homemade fries, and out of the box chicken nuggets to name a few. Everything is so crispy. The chicken wings are the best, and all the grease goes to the bottom. Clean up is easy. If you are a family of 4 or more I would get the xl air fryer. this is also great for teens even kids (supervised) to use because it is easy to use and has a timer.

Producto usado

great airfryer
I bought this Philips Airfryer mostly because of the good reviews I saw and I must say I am not disappointed ! Works as promised and the recommanded time for different types of food is accurate to make tasty and a little crispy food ! Almost no oil is needed. Nice look and feel of the unit and really easy to use. The only downside is that this airfryer is quite noisy. The fan makes more noise than I would like but the rest is so nice that it compensate more than enough for the noise !
