Adequate but not great. Mounting position depends on driver and mirror height.
The primary advantages of this mirror are that it does not block the standard mirror, and it isless convex. Disadvantage rust.I tested it as an alternative to a 2-1/2 inch round convex aux mirror mounted at the upper left corner of my side view mirror, or a small rectangular adjustable mirror in the upper right corner. I have had many miles of driving experience with these types, but have never been nappy with their blind spot coverage. (Buying a new vehicle is not an option) Each of these provided a wider angle of coverage, but a more distorted, smaller view that included areas already covered by the 3 standard mirrors, which are positioned for minimum overlap and don't cover the body of my SUV. This mirrlor easy to mount however no instructions are provided. The bracket is of heavy gauge steel screwed into the bottom of the case. It may not fit some standard mirror housings that have a close fit between mirror housing and moving mirror. The case is available in 2 finishes black and fake chrome plated. The unit I received had a prominent mold parting mark on the top of its case. It's not clear where that small piece of foam tape is supposed to be used. After dry fitting mirror to the driver side mirror of my Honda SUV, I discovered that the steel bracket is of sufficient thickness that it rubs on the moving primary mirror when held in place, and the screws were not quite long enough to touch the mirror housing.I placed the foam tape pad under the screw tips to prevent scratching. Altnougn the mirror housing is thick on this SUV, with the screws completely tightened, the mirror was still wobbly. I replaced the foam tape with a thicker piece of scrap rubber, which worked, although the motorised mirror bindld against the bracket it if is angled to the top of travel. This should not be a problem for most drivers watching their blind spot , not the sky.I am tall, so I drive with my seat pushed back and slightly reclined. I tried mounting the WA mirror on each end of the top of the main mirror.Mounted inboard, with the WA adjusted as far outward as it could go, 1/3 of the reflected view was of the side of my vehicle, which is useless information. Blind spot coverage was slight. Mounted toward the outer end, the blindspot coveage was better, but didn't show a compact car to my left whose windscreen was level with my dear wheel until I angled the mirror downward. With this adjustment, rear coverage starts about 3 car lengths rearward and is disorienting to me. My shorter spouse has a much better view without adjusting the WA mirror.Although the photos show this aux mirror mounted on top of the side mirror, for tall driver on a vehicle with a side mirror that is at a height taller than the roofline of a midsize car, it works better mounted beneath the side mirror. This may be impractical on vvehicles with low hung side mirtors. A very short driver might not be able to see the WA mirror in that position, unless using an adjustable height seat or a booster. Conclusion: this is a compromise worth trying because of the low cost. The limited miror back ball swivel angle combined with mirror housings that angle inward toward the vehicle and the small bracket prevent it from being mounted in a good coverage angle. If the fixed mounting bracket had one slot to allow the body to be angled further outward relative to the bracket, and then tighened in place, it could be a much more useful product.Followup: After a few months the steel mounting bracket started rusting and staining the housing of the main mirror.
