i WOULD GIVE A 1 STAR IF I WAS REVIEWING JUST FOR ASURION, BUT THAT IS NOT FAIR TO THE SELLER AND I love this Launch X431 PRO 5 – it’s an excellent diagnostic tool and worked perfectly for my vehicles. Unfortunately, when it failed and I filed a claim under my Asurion/Verizon Home Device Protect coverage, Asurion required me to mail in the unit and then valued it at only about $63 after roughly one year of use, even though tools like this still sell in the $1,100–$1,500 range. Because of that huge depreciation and the claim fee I had to pay, I ended up without my scanner and with far less than it would cost to replace it. The scanner itself is great, but buyer beware of extended insurance through Asurion – in my experience, they did not come close to covering the real cost of this device.

Great scan tool for anyone and everyone, from a novice to a professional. Features range from topology scanning, pre scans, post scans, ADAS calibrations, module programming and a lot more. I upgraded to this tool after using a different X431 model for the past two years. Highly recommend.

I had a launch x431 v4.0 before and bought this one to upgrade. I love the launch scantools. It does 90% of the functions I need. I very rarely have to grab the snap on or autel scanner. For people stuck on the fence between a pro5 or smaller x431v4.0. the only real difference i see is the jbox for programming modules through manufacturers websites. It works well,I have tried it with gm,Chrysler,ford and a couple of others with no problem. I do wish they would send the link to download drivers for the j box because they are a pain to find online but they are out there. It's a great scan tool. The bigger screen is a huge plus.its very easy to use,the topology is a very nice feature that my old one did not have and the battery life is great. I use it all day and have to charge it only once a week. The only problem I have so far is the diagnostic app crashes sometimes when you use Google at the same time but I'm sure that will be fixed with an update.

Downloaded all the software they said after taking 3 hours to find the download..some links didn't even work there is no customer service number if you do get someone through whats app it is only a computer have emailed the company no response. don't waste your money buy autel. this will not work until you get the right driver download and is a pain in the ass to find. Also does not have all functions it advertises. really pissed I bought this

Be careful. Rufus reports support for various makes and models, but when I contacted the seller to ask why the Maserati make wasn't linking I was told, "We are sorry the scanner can only do programming on Benz and BMW, and it is not compatible with the car, this is not a quality issue. All Launch scanners sold on Amazon belong to the Online Product category. All our products are imported from the LAUNCH TECH headquarters in China, and all our technical support and warranty services are provided by the Launch R&D department. We are competitors and sell different models, so LAUNCH TECH USA won't offer support to the users who bought scanners from Amazon." I gave 2 stars because it did work well on both my BMW and Mercedes. I knocked of 3 stars because the product was misrepresented, and the seller is misleading, calling themselves the "Launch Store," which implies you're buying directly from the manufacturer when you're not.

First of all, this tool showed a nice compact solid blow molded case. The compact size is definitely perfect for my work van since I am on the road all the time. I love how fast this tool turns on and that comes with all the adapter necessary to be able to diagnose just about anything on a heavy duty truck. This tool is very easy to use and there are regular updates for it.

I love this scan tool so far works better than the snap on one I purchased battery life is excellent. Connectivity between wifi and to the car itself is fast and efficient bottom I highly recommend this to any DIYer or someone working in a shop
