WOW
Love, love, love it. I used to off load photos and videos from our dash cam to my phone using an SD card reader. This device does all the sane work without tying up my phone. Now I just take the SD card out of the Dash Cam and plug it into the Hub. Press the backup button and watch all the files transfer over to a 1Tbye USB drive. Hub even has enough battery to power the external USB drive. There is a video review that claims the power connector is Micro USB. That might have been at the time video was posted. My unit came with a USB C connector. Only a couple of minor complaints and one improvement. First complaint is that the throughput when using it as an WiFi extender seems extremely slow. I don't use it much as an extender so it's not that big of deal to me. The second is that the SD card slot broke within first month. I guess removing and inserting SD card a lot did it. I can still read and write data to it, I just can't easily remove card. The button that should eject SD card is stuck in place. Tiny flat head screw driver is now required to remove card. The one improvement I would give it would be to add support for uploading files to Dropbox or One Drive.

Good Way to Back Up SD Cards When Traveling
I bought this solely to use to back up photo SD cards to an external SSD drive when traveling. It does a good job, but with some reservations. Setup with my iPhone wifi worked well. It didn't take long to pair it with my phone. Next, I downloaded the app. I got suspicious when I noticed the app got low ratings. I tried to use it to back up my SD card and found it a frustrating experience. It was buggy and I couldn't get it to work properly. I then used the IP address supplied and it worked just fine. Here's my routine. On the phone I can see both the SD card contents and the external drive, in my case a 2TB Sandisk SSD. I navigate to the DCIM folder on the SD card and use the copy utility. I then swap over to the external drive and select paste. The copy procedure starts and you get a progress bar. Once the folder is copied to the SSD, I use the rename utility and rename the folder. I use date and camera for the name, eg 10-25-2023 Fuji S20. I haven't used it as a power bank or as a router, so I can't speak to those features. It does what I bought it to do and will now be part of my travel photo kit. I recommend it. I hope they can get the app fixed. BTW, the model I was sent now uses the USB type C connector, which is a good move towards standardizing the USB connection.

Movie stream to multiple tablets
Great option as a travel file hub. We load movies on the SD and then have multiple tablets connect in the car and stream movies during the drive. No internet required. However, must download the NewQ app to access files and stream. The app is simple to use.

Believe all the one star reviews, folks.
What can I say? Why does Amazon feature products that don’t work? (And there are TONS of one star reviews here to support this). Amazon must not mind getting TONS of returns. Youtube has a ZILLION positive review videos on this product (believe me, I watched them all). So I thought that all the one star reviews here might have to so with people just not knowing how to use the product. (I have run into this before). Nope, the folks here are RIGHT. This product is GARBAGE! It transferred the files from my SD card to my SSD drive exactly ONCE and that was it. After that, I was presented time and again with the “FAILED TO COPY” message. Tried different SD cards, tried different SSD drives, all to no avail. So, if you’re thinking of purchasing one of these… DON’T! You’ll just end up returning it (like me).

SD Card Reader Issue Resolved
This is an update to my previous review. I received a replacement for my defective unit and have now changed my opinion of the unit. I have now used the unit with several SD cards (three different brands of SD cards) without any issues. It does take a careful reading of the instructions to get everything set up properly. But once the unit is setup the function of moving files from the SD card to a hard drive works well. This unit is now serving the purpose for which I purchased it, and that is to be a backup for my photos while in the field. ----------------------‐--------------------------------- I had high hopes for this travel router, but I ended up disappointed. I wanted to use this product to download photos from my camera's SD card to a hard drive without a computer. After carefully reading the instructions, I was able to download one SD card without any issues. The next time I tried to use it, the SD card would not lock into the card reader. I tried several SD cards, but none of them worked. I also tried the cards in another card reader, and there were no problems with the cards. Since I had the travel router for less than two weeks, I decided to return it because of the card reader failure.

It is good for families
The truth is that it is an excellent repeater, and can serve as a fantastic small server for use by those who travel with family, and who want to listen to their music and watch movies without the need for the Internet, since they can easily be uploaded to the File Hub and then shared through the internet generated by the equipment. Also this one, unlike the other one I had, also serves as a battery bank to charge the cell phone. It has a good range. I expected that it could already be used as a document replicator, that it would be synchronized with the cloud when it was online. In other words, I could bring all my files to the File Hub and use them while I'm traveling on the plane or anywhere where there is no internet and when connecting it to the network, it would be synchronized automatically with the cloud that I have (in this case with DropBox). Still, I think it's a good buy. not as useful as expected. But it is a good option to have a backup and especially for families that travel.

Has limitations on backup disk size
I bought this for one feature… The ability to push a button and have the contents of a SD card backed up to an external usb drive. On the first try I plugged in my 4TB usb drive and it didn't give an error it just showed the disk as empty and only 3TB in size. Upon reading the fine print in the included instructions said the max drive size is 3TB on the usb drive. I plugged in a 2TB drive and it worked perfect as advertised (but slow). The app playback of movies is super slow. Playing a 4K video is choppy. Network speed appears to be slower than I’d expected also. If you are buying for the one button backup feature it’s worth it as long as your usb drive is 3TB or less. It is small and portable which I really like for travel.

The killer feature and how to unlock it
AFAIK this is the only "computerless" SD -> USB drive or thumb drive backup solution available in October 2023. It advertises a one-click backup, just insert an SD card, attach a USB storage device, and hit the SD -> USB button for 5 seconds. My first couple of attempts failed and I got mad, but the mistakes were mine. I wanted to back up MOV files from my camcorder shooting soccer games. There are 12-15 files/game on an SD totaling 125GB or so, so some files are 10 or 11 GB each. The first USB drive I attached was formatted for a Mac, which is not supported, and did not work. The second drive I tried was formatted FAT so max 4GB file size and it would die on the first big file transfer it hit. I reformatted the thumb drive to be ExFAT and voila, everything works. It is not very quick, I estimate the backup will take just under 2 hours per SD, but it is computerless. You can use the NewHub app to look into directories on both the SD and USB to gauge rough file copy speed/time left. It would be killer if this thing had 2x Wifi radios in it so you could connect to a Wi-Fi network at a hotel and share it with all your devices (you can do so with an Ethernet connection, but few hotels in the US offer Ethernet Internet access). Support for captive pages to allow login along with that double WiFi would make this thing even better. Rounding up from 4.5 to 5 stars.

Back up per schede fotografiche sempre
