This is what I was looking for. Not perfect but quite workable.
This is what I was looking for, a way to connect my intex pump to use it to vacuum the pool. It allows a vacuum hose to connect to the intake on the pump inside the pool. There are a couple of issues that you have to overcome or live with. The first is that the vacuum hose doesn't fit the intake. They are the same size or at least close enough that they don't connect, and this is more overcome than live with. A low tech solution is to use duct tape, but a bit of a pain to do every time you want to vacuum the pool. I'm sure there are some adapters that taper out from the center that will connect both together. But I, like a lot of people I would guess, was replacing the inadequate pump that came with a fairly large pool, and was able to use the white translucent clip-on hose as my connector. One end slides into the skimmer. And I cut the hose at it's widest diameter and then the vacuum hose will slide into that. Connection accomplished. The next area to address is the small intake and the grid that keeps anything larger than sand out. either need to get the big stuff out first with a net and let the dust resettle. Or consider widening the hole so it's can handle a bit bigger piece and let the leave basket do the catching.Hope this connection idea helps.

I got this for my Daughter's Swimming pool and it works good.

Direct fit
Direct fit for the dual inlets on index above ground pools , got to watch the connecting hose size!!!

Almost perfect
This screwed right onto my skimmer (inlet) port with B adaptor with a perfect alignment. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is because my standard vacuum hose with a diameter of 1 1/4" barely fits into it. It is tight. I have to work it a little to get it to fit. A 1 1/2 " may or may not fit over the adapter. Just be careful not to crack either the vacuum hose end or the adaptor. i use the hydro tools 8110 weighted half moon pool vacuum head and it works like a charm. Sucks everything up. Only advice i can give is to youtube "priming your pool vacuum hose" to learn how to easily and quickly fill your vacuum hose with water to get instant suction. I use a 24' vacuum hose with an Intex Sand Filter/pump that circulates about 1600 gallons of water an hour and have excellent suction power.

Vacuuming my pool was a PIA before I got this simple screw on for my hose. Now I can vacuum my pool without any help of connecting hose. Before someone had to be in pool to get hose completely submerged, then quickly with hand over end pass to someone outside to quickly put into end of pump. Now simple easy peasy I can do all from outside & the biggy I do not have to unhook inlet on my pump side every time. Plus I use this on one inlet during the winter & use a simple plug so I can winterize pool at one valve easily. I will be purchase another before next winter.

Life saver for above ground pool vacuuming!
Absolute life saver! We have an Intex above ground pool and could not figure out a way to vacuum the bottom. We had an algae issue which I treated with an algaeicide and then a flocculant and was left with a large green mess in the bottom of the pool. However I couldn’t figure out a way to vacuum it up.First, turn off the pump. This piece will screw directly on to the filtered outlet on the inside of the pool. (There are usually two of these) Then I put the plug on the other outlet and the return. Remove the return hose from the pool and the discharge the dirty water directly on the ground. Do not run it through the filter and back into the pool as this will not clean it sufficiently. For those with a bigger pump, just set it to the waste setting. I lost 2-3 inches of water but the pool is very clean now. 2-3 inches of water are easily replaced.

Works great! WITH MODIFICATIONS!!
This part is what I needed to hook my vacuum hose up to the filter via the filter outlets in the pool side, but it will not work without effort and adapters. I don't know what hose size the designers had in mind here, but assuming most people who buy this part use the smaller 1 1/4" vacuum hose it will take some effort to make it work. Pictures will show what I did. About 4 inches of 1 1/2" ID Reinforced flex hose from Home Depot heated to expand over fitting and shrink over hose end. Then while still warm and flexible I tightly wrapped string around both ends to secure. This is a great way to hook your vacuum hose directly to one of the filter outlets inside the pool (I needed to screw directly to the filter the old way and had water flying all over!) but it will take about an hour's effort first (If you have the scrap parts and tools to use).

You don't need to alter it!!!
I've read some of the reviews and came up with an alternative solution to grinding down the outside of the adapter so it will accept a 1 1/2 inch hose. If you do that, forget about using the skimmer because it will be too small (although I'm sure it could be adapted somehow with tape or something). If you want to use it on the intake and attach to a vacuum, simply use one of those pump hoses that connects to the outside of your above ground pool. These are generally 1 1/4 inch and will slip INSIDE of the adapter and the 1 1/2 inch hose. In other words, the pump hose can be used as a coupler between the adapter and the 1 1/2 inch vacuum cleaner hose. I tried it and it works great. Make sure you have enough length because the pump hose will pull free from the adapter if you pull on it too hard. No muss, no fuss. All you need is a piece of pump hose.
