Simple and effective espresso shots!
To start, I bought this to save money because my daily Dutch bros runs were getting outta control! I had tried my hand at an actual espresso machine, Breville, Ninja. They worked great BUT I needed simplicity. I needed quick. While I admire people wanting to learn how to make good espresso drinks, I just don’t have the time. This made it so much faster to get a drink ready to go for work. Pop a pod in and I’m good. Put it with some tummy sensitive milk and I’m good to go! If you’re an espresso snob, yeah you might be able to tell the difference in the shots, but once I put it with my milk, add some syrup and it tastes just like my go to Dutch bros drink! So it works well for me! I also like this one does the espresso pods and coffee pods. Not much coffee fan but having the option is nice. Price point is great! Just take the leap and simplify your mornings!

Become a Barista with the push of a button…almost!
The Nespresso Vertuo is amazing! When it makes a cup of coffee or espresso, etc. there is froth at the top. In my photos, with the glass, this is a double espresso. There’s a photo of the cup by itself to show the completed double espresso size. In the video, I could only get the start of the brewing to keep it under 30 seconds. The video shows how to insert the pod and how long it takes from when you put the pod in, how long it takes to start brewing. It’s fast. If you want to get the true experience of making cappuccinos or lattes, you might want to purchase a milk frother. The only downside for me is that the Nespresso machine doesn’t make the coffee as hot as I’d like it. But it’s hot enough. I like this size Nespresso due to the water tank is the largest out of all the models. The water tank is on the left and the area to catch the used pods is on the right. I love that the Nespresso pods are aluminum and not plastic and you can recycle them. Nespresso will provide bags to ship the pods to recycle them. We like the taste of the coffee, it’s brews nicely and there’s a variety of flavors to choose from as well as different sizes.

So far so good. Easy to use.
This thing makes terrific espressos and is really easy to use, at least for basic functions. It came with 8 different coffee and 4 different espresso capsules. No measuring the water - the machine knows exactly how much water to use based on the code on the capsule - there is only one button to press. I haven't tried adjusting the water volume for the capsule type but the instructions make it look pretty easy. It wasn't immediately obvious, to us anyway, about the two clear plastic reservoirs. The one on the left is for the water. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that the one on the right is where the machine chucks the spent capsules when you open it to put in the next one. Really clean and convenient - you don't even have to touch it. So far there are about 7 capsules in there so it looks like it'll hold about 30 before you need to empty it. It makes a really rich foam for the espressos. If the machine is cold, you need to wait a minute to get a coffee, but if it's still hot from the last one it cranks out the next one almost immediately. Only thing that irked me a little was that the adjustable stand for the cup needs to be secured well - it can SEEM to be in place, but then when the weight of a full cup is on it it can fall off. You need to make sure it's on good. Update - had it about one month and I'm really happy with it. Still always re-checking the stand if I've adjusted it to make sure it's on. It's probably made 150 coffee/espressos by now and it's chugging along fine. I always fill it (or any coffee maker) with distilled water, as the scale buildup with distilled water is zero, and you can go much longer before a cleaning cycle. Update again July 2020. It's been 19 months and this thing has been terrific. Never a problem at all. Cleaning needs are rare because we always use distilled water. We've probably run 1,500 pods through this thing (we have a lot of house guests) and it's never failed. Couldn't be happier with it. Updated AGAIN June 2021. It's now been 2.5 years and maybe 2,500 pods and still goin' strong. I probably should clean it more than I do, but as I mentioned, I always use distilled water, so there's never any scaling at all and it's easy to forget about because it always looks clean. Updated AGAIN January 2024. More than 5 years and thousands of espressos and coffees, I still have nothing to complain about. Terrific machine.

The Crema!
This coffee machine is fantastic. It's easy to use, and makes a great cup of coffee. I stayed away from the Nespresso machines for a long time due to the high price, and espresso only options. It wasn't until the Vertuoline, that I became interested again because with this line you get coffee options as well. Man am I glad I did. The pods are a tad pricey, but it is totally worth it. The cream, the flavor, the goodness. LOL. In all seriousness, this is my 3rd "pod" type machine. I have had a Starbucks Verismo and multiple Keurig machines. The Verismo was good, however, Starbucks seemed to launch the machine with zeal, then let it die a slow death. No new machine in years, and seemed to no longer display and sell them. I was told they weren't going to keep making them. So back to Kuerig I went. The pods are better priced, but no matter the coffee type, it always seemed to be either an inconsistent cup of coffee or a weak cup, even with espresso roasted coffee pods. Then comes the hero of our story. The Nespresso Vurtuo line of makers. I have to say, I was skeptical, and not expecting a lot from another pod machine. I was wrong. It is enjoyable, and an extremely satisfying cup of coffee, and espresso as well. *A word about the broken machines in Reviews* All the negative reviews seem to be about build/ship quality in regards to the water tank. Mine was perfect on arrival and no cracks etc. I think that the problem is the design. Most people are used to "pulling" tasks up and off. This one is more of tilt off then up motion. So I think it might be easy to damage un-intentionally. I also think its a good idea to watch the Nespresso YouTube Channel about your specific machine. Its very well put together and informative.

Vapor Lock prevents initial cleaning cycle and coffee making
We have had Nespresso coffee for many years. Yesterday we got a new Vertuo replacement machine. I attempted to initiate its initial cleaning step . It hummed and made some spinning noises but no flow. I spent about an hour figuring out what was going on... It turns out my unit had a "vapor lock" preventing it from being able to draw water from the water tank located on the side. It was very difficult to overcome this problem There are a number of method on line that try to address this problem involving forcing water (or air) thought the tank interface (you need to make sure the unit is operating because that's when it opens a valve to the tank and attempt to draw water in). What finally worked for me was taking a small compressed air source (used for blowing off computer stuff) and sticking its tube up the hollow spike that penetrates the top of the coffee puck. I had the unit on it's side when I did this. This spike is very sharp so be very careful. I worked!!! I just had a great cup of coffee the temperature at the opening in the machine reach 168 degrees. Perfect! All is well now. So... I do not know how to score this product. I decided give it one star. So that folks that experience similar problems know there is a solution out there.

Pretty Good!
Works great! It doesn’t take up a lot of space and was easy to get started. There was no plastic or odd smells. Only complaint is the vibration during operation will throw a cup out of the dispensing area so you cannot walk away from it or you’ll find the cup dislodged and spilled coffee. The pods are costly too.

Great Coffee
This is my second De'Longhi Vertuo machine. I've always heard De'Longhi makes great products, and this one is no different. I purchased this machine for our 2nd home. I could not be more pleased with the Nespresso products. The coffee is great, that's why I bought this machine. I could not imagine having coffee in the morning at our beach place from a regular coffee machine. At first I thought the Vertuo Line pods were a rip off because they do cost $1.10 each, but once you taste the coffee it's worth it. The coffee brews smooth, no more bitter coffee in my house. This machine was an open box product. I opened it and it got an air bubble in the line when I placed the water tank to start the cleaning process, so it would not run water through to complete the cleaning cycle. I called Nespresso (they have great customer service) the rep stayed with me on the line until we got the air bubble out of the line and viola! my machine is working like a charm. Would buy again if needed. I'm hooked on Nespresso, specially the Vertuo line, it's just like having coffee in Europe on those sidewalk cafes that serve the best coffee ever. This is the same. You have to descale the machine once in while to keep the coffee tasting great. Descaling has a lot to do where you live and if you use tap water. We use purified bottled water so I have not had a need to descale my 1st machine that I've had for 6 months now. It's easy to clean, just wipe down with a wet microfiber cloth and that's it. Great coffee. If you just want to taste the coffee and see if this would be worth it for you, I recommend you go to the nearest Nespresso Boutique and you can taste all their coffees for free. I'm not affiliated with Nespresso in anyway nor did I receive any perks for leaving this review. I just really love their coffee. After drinking bitter coffee for most of my life, and longing to know what was the secret in the coffee I drank in most cafes in Europe, am just happy that I found a coffee maker that am able to drink the coffee that left me longing every time I came home.

Superbe cafetière
Cette cafetière est la meilleure que j’ai possédée. La plus silencieuse des cafetières Nespresso que j’ai eues. Elle fait un merveilleux crema. Très content.
