Is this good for low porosity hair? Does it contain protein?

Do you just rub the bar on your head or do you made a lather in your hands? Is it very lathery like bottle shampoo?

I rub the bar directly on my head, but you need your hair to be REALLY wet...like you just got out of the swimming pool wet, head under the sprayer wet. The wetter your hair is, the more lather you get. It isn't as lathery as a bottle shampoo in my experience, but there is definite lather.

how many washes can you get out of one bar?

I am very new at using this way of washing and conditioning my hair. But for the few times I have used the bars, they will last for quite some time. It does not take much to rub in a nice lather in washing your hair, and you use less of the bar in getting a sufficient amount of conditioner in your hair. This way of using shampoo and conditioner is amazing!

Is the conditioner supposed to lather?

No, conditioner doesn't lather. Only the shampoo lathers.
