I like the 50R it is clear and good. The only thing I don’t like is the charging should be with the helmet near the charger it is not easy to remove from the helmet.

The technology just didn't work very well. the signal was very crackly and had very low range. I had a Sena SRL which worked pretty well with my friend (on another bike also using a different Sena system). It stopped working after 4-5 years (which itself was disappointing) and so bought this top of the range new Mesh and Bluetooth system. I went for the top of the range (newest technology), mesh (although I didn't need it, it would be more future proof) and compatibility with my friend's system. It was much worse than the 4 year old system. The (bluetooth - I didn't use Mesh this holiday) comms was very poor - bad range, crackly signal. I telephoned Sena support and, although very friendly, their advice was to reinstall the firmware and restart. it made no difference. Am sending it back as not good enough for my needs. I like Sena but very disappointed with this. Not sure where to go with another comms unit now.

Operating the senna was awkward with glove on preferred my old senna s20 but I went for the upgrade which was very good . Unfortunately Operating it is my priority

Pairs to both bike and phone via Bluetooth without any issues. Easy to establish connections to other Sena units via open mesh and group mess. Finding the correct buttons on the unit with summer gloves is easy enough. About the only time I need to use the buttons when riding is to switch on/off the FM radio if the voice command fails. Some of the other functions I need to preform, like answering/making call, playing music, turning the volume up/down can be done from the bike (BMW R1250RS). Unit is not easily transferable to another helmet that has mic and speakers installed from an accessory kit. Speakers and mic need to be disconnected from within the helmet, which means removing the lining to get to the connections. Unlike the Sena 50S which can be installed using a cradle, making the unit easy to transfer between helmets with the accessory kit. Don’t believe the distance the units can communicate over claimed by Sena in the real world. Maybe in a flat open desert. I have been able to communicate with another Sena unit when out of sight, being over a hill and around a corner. Getting commands to execute via voice starting with “Hey Sena” can be tricky. This appears to be a common issue across the Sena range.

Seit einiger Zeit fahre ich jetzt mit dem Sena 50R und bin nach wie vor total begeistert! Das Gerät ist super flach und windschnittig gebaut – passt in (fast) jeden Helm perfekt rein, ohne dass man ständig Druckstellen an den Ohren hat. Die Verarbeitung fühlt sich hochwertig an und das Teil sitzt bombenfest. Der Klang ist der absolute Hammer – besonders seit der Harman/Kardon-Version. Musik klingt richtig druckvoll mit schönem Bass (für ein Helm-Intercom!), Stimmen sind glasklar und auch bei 130–160 km/h versteht man sich mit den anderen Fahrern noch sehr gut. Windgeräusche werden wirklich effektiv rausgefiltert, das ist ein riesiger Unterschied zu meinen alten Sena-Modellen. Das Mesh 2.0 funktioniert bei uns (meist 3–5 Fahrer) tadellos – selbst wenn mal jemand kurz aus der Reichweite fällt, baut es sich automatisch und blitzschnell wieder auf. Bis ca. 1,5–2 km auf freier Strecke problemlos, in den Bergen/Auwald natürlich etwas weniger, aber immer noch sehr gut. Bedienung mit den drei Tasten ist für mich persönlich klarer und schneller als beim Jog-Dial (hab vorher 50S gefahren). Nach kurzer Eingewöhnung geht alles blind. Akku hält bei gemischter Nutzung (Musik + Intercom) locker 10–12 Stunden, Schnellladung ist ein Traum: 20 Minuten Ladezeit → wieder 5–6 Stunden Fahrt. Kurz gesagt: Für mich das bisher beste Motorrad-Kommunikationssystem, das ich hatte. Preis ist nicht billig, aber die Qualität und vor allem der Spaßfaktor auf Tour (Gruppenfahrten, Musik, Navi-Ansagen) rechtfertigen jeden Cent. Wer viel fährt und Wert auf guten Sound + zuverlässiges Mesh legt → klare Kaufempfehlung!

I’ve only had it for a week but so far it works perfect and I’m using it on a half helmet. I have made and received phone calls at 60 mph. I could hear perfectly and the person on the other end said it sounded clear to them. I also installed a Lenink CarPlay Jumper on my 2021 Street Glide Special. I have sent and received text, made and received phone calls and requested seri open apps all through voice commands. Everything works fine but there is a sequence I need to follow before using the Sena and you must answer calls with the button on the Sena not the Harley Boom. First plug your phone into the hdmi in the glove box, next turn your ignition on and then turn Bluetooth on on your phone and connect to Sena. With that sequence everything worked for me. The one thing that I wish I could resolve is the ability to answer the phone using the boom screen. The only time I touch any buttons is when answering a phone call. It’s not really a problem but this is the only time I need to touch my Sena.

Excellent produit, belle finition, montage facile sur différents casques avec les montages fournis. Bonne qualité de sonorisation. La portée est tres bonne. Se connecte parfaitement avec les équipements audio BMW, meme avec le 50R qui est vendus sous la marque BMW
