Works great so far. Used it for about 2 hours total . Starts first pull, is quiet and powers my camper just fine.

We bought this unit to run the AC on our travel trailer. Worked great for a week with light use, we packed it away for the season when we got home. Then last week happened. The Seattle area was hit with a 'Bomb Cyclone' that knocked out power to over 600,000 homes, with a power restoration ETA of "a few days". It was cold and I work from home, we were in a pickle. Out of desperation, we decided to see if our camping generator could help power our 3000 ft house. We were amazed to find out this generator could power our two fridges, lights, tv, computers, coffee pot, toaster, and even our gas furnace/fan. We had to stagger turning on the breakers so that the generator could get accustomed to the load (fridge compressor, etc.), but it ran like a champ. It powered our home for 5 days, with 15 hour days non-stop runs. I was able to work , we were fed, we were warm, we watched movies, and we weathered the storm. Can't speak more highly of this generator. Never skipped a beat. Tip 1: Replace the stock spark plug with a quality NGK plug. Tip 2: With unit off, perform two slow priming pulls of the starting cord. Turn unit on and pull normally. Starts easily for us following this procedure every time.

I am extremely impressed with this generator. I bought it for use with my 30A Travel Trailer in the hopes that it would run our AC while "off-grid". I love that it has a direct TT30A receptacle that doesn't require any adapters. Not only does it run our AC, but can do so effortlessly, even with the "Eco-throttle" engaged. It is very quiet. In practical use, I cannot tell it from the "red ones". I would need a dB meter to be able to tell you if there was an actual difference (I may borrow one and update this review). With it running outside, right next to the corner of our trailer, I can barely hear it running when I step inside, and if the AC kicks in, it actually makes it impossible to hear the genny at all, because the fan / compressor noise from the AC unit exceeds that of the genny humming outside. I had considered a 5500W 240V model that was twice as heavy (on wheels) and actually produces LESS 120V power "per leg" (To get max watts out of a 240V generator, you need to draw from both phases, so 2500W per side. So if you need a lot of 120V single-phase power, this is it! This little beast makes 3000 running watts, with 3500W surge. The red one I am referring to is 1800 running watts, 2200 surge. It costs over 1000 US, and is only 8 lbs lighter, weighing in at 47 lbs vs this one at 55 lbs. I plan to take good care of this little generator, and since I won't be using it commercially I expect it to last me for years. Yes, the red ones have (or at least used to...) an outstanding reliability record. I believe they are beginning to see some competition enter the market...

3500 watt pull start gasoline generator. Have used it for 150 hours and it starts every time. Max output is 2400 watts continuous which is expected because you lose 3% in engine output/generator output for every 1000 feet altitude gain and I live at 5600 feet and use this generator exclusively at 10,500 feet when camping in CO. Rotary knob for turning fuel and choke on (has off, run and choke detents) broke. Maxpeeding rods customer service told me to use a wrench to rotate the knob. I feel this is unacceptable. After I told them this was not a good option, they required me to send them a video to "determine what was broken." Anyway, I feel this is poor customer service. I previously owned two Champion generators and if I ever had an issue, they bent over backwards and send me repair parts no questions asked. I wish Maxpeeding rods customer service was half as good as Champions. Don't recommend, spend a little extra for better customer service should you need it. Update: 10.14.2025- Generator has 230 hours on it (I installed a hobbs meter when new). It now won't run consistently. Sometimes it starts and when it does, it often runs for several minutes and shuts off. Carburetor removed and cleaned (no issues or gunk in it), fuel lines replaced, spark plug replaced, air filter element removed and cleaned and problem still persists. THIS IS NOT A GENERATOR YOU USE FOR YEARS, IT IS BASICALLY GARBAGE. I suspect the electronic ignition has a defective component that fails when it heats up. BUY A CHAMPION if you want a reliable generator with amazing customer service after the sale.

I ordered this inverter to use at my RV lake house on the weekends. Still in my first week with it, but it powers my entire rig, and is VERY quiet. I have an 1800w inverter as well but it just isn't as strong. Now I can use the fridge, a 3 gal 110v electric water heater, my portable 8k BTU floor A/C and all kinds of cabin power for lights, TV, sound bar, phone charger, juicer, etc. all together. Might even try my air fryer today. I kinda feel like I should send somebody somewhere some more cash for this because it is amazing! Plus the weather proof bag and included parallel cable and even a 30a adapter plug are awesome. It only weighs a bit more than my 1800w. The engine is much larger though and you can hear the bass in it once you fire it up! 2 yr warranty as well. Excellent buy. 👍🏾👍🏾

I purchased this generator for work. We usually use Honda 2200 generators but they are expensive and sometimes we need more power than they can produce. I decided to try this one and so far it has worked great. I have taken it to full rated output to see if it could actually put out what it says it can. I was able to pull within 50 watts of rated load so I was very happy with that. It's not as quiet as the Honda but it's not much louder. It only weighs a few pounds more than the Honda too. Make sure to do plenty of break in oil changes. I was changing the oil after every hour of use during break in and the amount of glittery metal in the oil was concerning the first few changes but it clears up about the 4th or 5th oil change. This is not a concern with the Honda. Time will tell how reliable it is but so far I have about 40 hours of run time and it's been great. I would buy again.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! [Upped to four stars.] The generators that I am used to -- the Champions -- will ALWAYS start within one to two pulls. This MaXpeedingrods 3500 Watt Portable Inverter Generator sometimes will not start at all. The problem seems to be that it floods VERY easily, so you may have to wait an hour or so before trying again. This is a HUGE pain. ADDENDUM1: I'm trying the old technique of adding a preliminary priming yank while in the OFF position. So far, it seems to be helping the hard starting issue... ADDENDUM2: Upped rating to 5 Stars. After a a few dozen hours, this unit now starts on first pull (about 90% of time). Also, I was finally able to test this genny at altitude (9500 feet), and it started and ran fine. This cannot be said for many other generator brands.

This 3500 inverter generator is powerful running all my power tools n its been very reliable n runs about 6 hours on a full tank of gas n I recommend it n would buy another one in the future n I hope run for yrs to come

this is a unboxing review and will update after a year of use or after using it for good amount of hours. i purchased this invertor to replace my Firman 3600W generator which was large, heavy (100+pounds) and louder. i use it for odd camping trip, house power outage which happens 2-4 times per year and also for ice fishing. so unboxing. I was very impressed. reason i bought this unit was the price for the watts i needed and also was the most sold and most reviews on amazon which my next choice was a Firman 4000W at costco for double the money but better customer service and warranty. figured id take my chances on this one. only bad review i read was oil stains in bottom plate which mine had some but that to me is a positive thing, means they ran the motor at manufacture to make sure it runs and then they drained it out do no metal shavings left inside. so i made sure to completely drain the oil out which was maybe 10-20ML worth. i added 10W30 regular oil (about 400ml). before adding gas i looked around making sure everything looked tight and nothing seemed off. gave it couple cranks to move the oil in motor then for first start i used 91 octane ethanol free gas. fired up on first pull. super quiet and tested on a heat gun which 1000-1500W and everything worked. check around for leaks or weird noises and everything looked great. i did take off the spark arrestor from muffler because if always have bad luck with those on small engines. before storing it away i drained the carb bowl so nom fuel sits in there. I am impressed with this unit and looking forward to using it.

**Update** October 2025: have used it now for over 2 years, including winter camping in the snow. It now has 2000 hours of run time on it! Just over a month ago, it ran non stop for 72 hrs at around 2500 watts output in near constant 32°C heat with no issues at all. Fuel consumption under these conditions was approx 0.7 to 0.8 litres per hour. Still performs well, still quiet and responsive when throttling up. Oil changes have not revealed any obvious issues such as dirty oil or metal glitter. Have used only full synthetic oil in the recommended grade since break in was completed. A couple of observations: 1. Ease of starting can vary a lot. Sometimes it starts on first pull, other times it requires many pulls both on choke or off choke with no obvious reason why--except the colder it is, the harder it starts. 2. Actual run time before running dry never came close to advertised. The best it ever did was 8hrs 25min on a FULL tank of premium, on Eco mode, with an intermittent load of only 450 watts. The gas tank is tiny, but that's the trade off for compact size and light weight. I created an auxiliary fuel system which increased run time approximately 5x longer. Very good value. Increasing my overall rating to 4.5 stars. Would definitely buy again. **End of Update** >>Original Review starts here<< I've only run it for a couple of hours so far, breaking it in with conventional oil and changing it twice. Will be putting it to use in a few days, as well as throughout the cold snowy winter doing off grid camping. A couple of issues I discovered right away: the air intake tube from the air filter box to the carb was not actually seated at all into the air box - it was sucking unfiltered air from inside the generator housing. I only discovered this when I took the whole side panel off to check how to clean the air filter. So I installed that intake tube correctly myself and now the air filter will actually do some good. The other small issue is the plastic housing is slightly in the way of getting the spark plug out or in when using the tool provided with the unit (spark plug tool is junk anyway - it stripped its own corners after about the fourth time using it; and i didn't over tighten it). Do yourself a favor and use an actual spark plug socket with an extension on a ratchet. Otherwise, generator is as advertised. Lightweight, compact, and quiet. Power output seems consistent. I tested the voltage with a 1000 watt load on (my shop vac), and it was steady at 123 volts output. It also had no issue throttling up from Eco mode when I turned on the shop vac. This generator will easily run a 14,000 BTU portable AC, plus three small to medium fridge/freezers, and several other small appliances all at the same time. I gave 5 stars to value, in the hope that this unit lasts me many years. Only time will answer that.

I just received this little generator today. I quickly unboxed it and went outside to try it out. First impression is that it's fairly light for a 3500w machine. The instructions seem clear enough it gives a rough idea for maintenance even though the machine does not have a built in hour meter. It came with spark plug wrench, small screwdriver, ground cable, cover, oil fill funnel and adapter plug. I bought a magnetic dipstick made by WEN to use in it instead of the plastic one.. the reason for that was just to clean out any debris from the break in period. The magnetic dipstick is not quite as long as the original but it doesn't matter you should be keeping you oil topped up each use. I took a picture of the dipstick in case anyone wanted to do the same. Next came filling up the oil. It recommended using 10w30 which I did... I was able to put in about 500ml. They also say you can use 5w30 or 15w30. I guess if you were in the Arctic a thinner oil would serve better. After filling it with gas and the oil to the proper level (bottom of the dipstick threads) I filmed myself starting it for the very first time. Went as expected. A few pulls with choke on and she was off and running. No smoke as some have claimed to have. Ran smoothly for an hour. I tried a number of different power tools and small appliances.. It handled everything as expected.. Its really very quiet. I have a smaller WEN that I bought a few years ago and this is comparable in noise. No... It is NOT a Honda generator so I don't compare the two. Finally, after an hour of run-time I shut it down and pulled the dipstick to check for debris. There was a very very small amount of metal powder stuck to it.. Fairly normal for a new machine. I will keep the magnetic dipstick in since it fits properly and doesn't leak I'd rather keep the metal particles out of my engine. For now this generator gets 5 stars. I don't see anything wrong with it. Everything works as it should. Very happy at this point. I will keep this review updated when I have a chance to put the generator to work.

Very well appointed, starts easily. Seems ok on fuel, only two tanks so far. Runs my 24 foot rv trailer with AC no problem!
