No, most cars will say that they are pull back and release. This did not but it is a neat car. The little boy that received this car really loved it. Hope this helps.

Is this car the right size to use with the play set?

I had the mud racing set for my kids and this car although fit on the track did not work smoothly with the track. It would consistently get stuck.
