Very Pleased So Far
I had a thumb joint replacement on my left hand and a brace was required after six weeks in a cast. I am six days out from having the cast removed and have another five weeks where the brace will be necessary. My surgeon provided a universal brace that was huge on my hand, no padding at all so it was also very painful to wear. After two days, I ordered this brace in my size, an extra small, and it fits my hand well. After six weeks in a cast, my hand is not yet flexible enough to be in any other position except the one my surgeon gave me for my cast. That was a concern for me so I was relieved to find this brace puts my thumb in an anatomically correct position. My incision site is still very bruised and painful and my skin is hypersensitive right now. The padding in this brace is pretty good and would do well, I think, if my hand did not have the bruising from my cast and soreness that comes with surgery. I have addressed this by adding a piece of foam to further cushion the area around my incision. I think this will not be necessary once I heal up more, but the brace has adjustable straps that allow for the extra padding and I am comfortable wearing it. To be honest, I was hesitant to purchase this brace because there were a number of negative reviews, but BraceAbility indicated they had updated the brace in 2019 based on those same negative comments. That impressed me because not many manufacturers seem to do that so I decided to give it a try. It appears to me they did an excellent job of addressing the negative issues. This brace has size options and my size fits, it is well-padded and adjustable without a surplus length of straps hanging over. The ribbed, soft fabric that is under the straps could have been a bit longer for me because it didn't quite keep the straps from lying against the top of my hand. Were my skin not so sensitive right now, I don't think it would be a problem. I cannot speak to the longevity of this brace since I have only been using it for a few days. In my case, if it lasts for another five weeks, it will be money well-spent. I will say it appears to be well made and sturdy. If it turns out otherwise, I will pop back and update this review. For now, I have to say this brace is stellar.

The best brace ever!
I bought this for my sprained thumb. I had tried 2 different ones that was just not working and were a tad to big. I have small hands and wrists and the other 2 braces were one size fits most. The one I had before I got this one, Was only supposed to be temporary until I seen the Doctorr and get a better one from them that fits And when I told them it didn't work it was a tad to big. The Doctor just told me the brace looks good. As long as it fits. But after a week of wearing that one, my thumb was not getting better. And after the doctor refused to listen to me, and wanted to go ahead and get an MRI. I knew I needed better support and compression, I bought this. It came the next day. As soon as I put this on within 5 minutes my thumb finally felt better and the inflammation finally started to go away and I was able to feel my fingers as my whole hand was constantly cold and felt numb. Its day 3 wearing it both day and night and my thumb is finally starting to feel better!. I totally recommend getting trying this brace before going to an orthopedic. Unless your orthopedic Dr cares and actually listens.

Better closure needed
I really like the way this brace supports my thumb & wrist & would like to get another for my left arm. HOWEVER, despite the fact that the brace fits well (I wear an X-small), thereโs very little of the straps that are actually part of the closure. The straps flop all over the place & I worry that theyโll quit working at all. I like the brace, but work on the closures!!

Comfortable product and helped
I bought several braces prior to this one... Just wasted money on the others. This is the only one you really need - however, cannot be worn if you are a frontline healthcare worker washing hands all of the time.

Great brace
I've been diagnosed with tendonitis of the thumb and also carpal tunnel. I was looking for a better brace than my medical office provided, one more comfortable around the thumb. Other braces just wrap a velcro strip around, with no buffering, resulting in sharp edges irritating the skin. This brace is very comfortable, as it's padded. It still doesn't fit entirely the way my brace from 10 yrs ago fits. Turns out they don't make those anymore. It used to come up to the top bend in the thumb, bracing the thumb in entirety. Unfortunately, this one only comes to the first joint, so not entirely braced. However, it supports very well, and is more comfortable than any other brace I've tried, and I've tried several, for my challenge.

Awkward for small arms! Falls apart after a week..
My wrist is 6.5", so I ordered an extra small, and the XS wrist brace fits okay. But, when I tighten the straps so that the brace is snug and supportive, there's about 4 inches of extra fabric on each strap that just dangles... there's no where for the excess strap fabric to attach. They just hang awkwardly from my arm. Am I supposed to cut off the excess? My husband's wrist is 7.5" and the XS fit him perfectly. After wearing it for about a week, the metal thumb support bar broke through the fabric on my palm. The metal scratches my baby when I try to pick her up! It's removable, but not as much support without it in place. The brace restricts movement of my thumb and wrist, so that's good. But is not comfortable to wear at night.

Best Quality Brace
This is an incredibly quality brace. I bought it before I saw an orthopedist in order to relieve pain I was having, and she was impressed with its fit - saying it was usually hard to find a more custom fit - especially for smaller hands/wrists. The measuring process was very accurate and I am so pleased with the quality materials that were used to make this product. And the price is more than reasonable. I highly recommend this company and this brace in particular. It has been extremely helpful to me to support my thumb and wrist. The velcro is strong and the straps very secure. Because my wrists are so small, I trimmed some of the length off of the straps, which worked perfectly in order not to have straps that flapped as I moved. I give this brace an A+++.

Very study and good guard for De Quervain's Tenosynovitis
I bought this as I suffered from De Quervain's Tenosynovitis The product helps restrict my thumb movement and aided my recovery. It is comfortable to wear it throughout the day and even while sleeping. The material is thick and has limited circulation so u might perspire if not used it in a cool environment. You should use an antibacterial wet wipes to clean if you perspire a lot. I bought this in addition to two different one as this guard is more rigid and I wear it if I am gonna be in an Aircon room the whole day or when I sleep at night.
