It is good book to read to children. Even grown ups can learn from it.

Not quite as interesting as hoped...
Too many of the tales followed the same formula and left me unsure that any great virtue was extolled. In my mind, giving away things that are not needed nor wanted does not constitute generosity!!? But I really enjoyed the plethora of wise Sanskrit proverbs. [Specific rating: 2.5 / 5 stars]

Highly recommended - Will treasure this book, very Inspiring!
Highly recommended, what I liked most of this book was the highlighting of the philosophy of the Indian way of life. For example, repeatedly there are stories of Vikramaditya that emphasize you should help people but not for getting rewards. The pure pursuit of living a bold, adventurous and good life. There was a repeated emphasis on pursuit of excellence without seeking rewards. Vikramiditya is offered rewards by Indira, Apsaras and Bali Chakravarthy but immediately after entering the real world gives away the precious gifts to someone else for no real reason. Vikramaditya refuses to take any gifts and rewards and repeatedly say with your grace I have enough for what I need.I dont know if this version is inferior to another book or some stories are not here from an earlier version. The author did a great job is writing in a simple way and ensured the essence of the thinking behind the stories is conveyed to an English speaking person.Very good book and a very inspiring! I am grateful to the author for giving me exposure to a Sanskrit classic through this english translation.
