Does marine collagen have a fishy taste or smell?

Our Amandean marine collagen is double-hydrolyzed to remove the fishy taste and smell older marine collagens were known for. It's flavorless and odorless — most buyers stir a scoop into coffee, smoothies, or water with no noticeable fish flavor.

Does marine collagen contain heavy metals or mercury?

Heavy-metal contamination is a known concern for marine-sourced supplements, which is why every batch goes through third-party purity verification — checked for mercury, arsenic, cadmium, and lead.

Marine collagen vs bovine collagen — which is better?

Both work. Marine collagen (fish) is rich in Type I, the dominant collagen in skin, with smaller molecular weight some research links to faster absorption. Bovine collagen has Type I + III, supporting skin AND joints + gut connective tissue.

How long does it take to see results from marine collagen?

Hair and nails are typically fastest visible — many report changes within a few weeks of daily use. Skin texture takes longer (6-12 weeks). Joint and connective-tissue benefits build over months. Consistency matters more than dose size.

What does 'double hydrolyzed' mean?

Hydrolysis breaks collagen into smaller peptides your body absorbs. Double hydrolyzed means the process runs twice, producing even smaller peptides (~2-5 kDa) — improving dissolvability, eliminating fishy taste, and supporting faster gut absorption.
