Amazon delivery is getting worse. I ordered these pastels and for almost a week it’s been sitting in the receiving center in my town. They kept updating the delivery. It arrived there on a Tuesday and supposedly rode around all day with the delivery driver till it went back to the receiving center. No updates after that except to tell me if I don’t get it in 3 days i could cancel the order. I reordered the same item and got it the next day. Well…it’s 3 days later and I canceled the original order that I never got. Now I have to wait another 3-5 days for a credit.The 2nd order of pastels are great. The colors are beautiful, they are a nice size and nothing arrived broken. They are perfect for my needs. Who knows where the first order is.Hopefully I’ll get the refund for the pastels I didn’t get.

The chalks were great, blended easily. Good value.

Buying art supplies can be risky online.I wanted a set of hard pastels to give to a good artist friend. We have painted together for years and years(like 25 years). We needed a change of pace, though. We decided we would buy each other the materials for our next projects.This is what I got her. This is a large set and probably is more than you’d want if a beginner. The hardness on the pastels is perfect. It is important that the pastels don’t dust themselves away. Blending sticks and gum erasers work well with these pastels. The pigments are rich, true colors that transfer to good paper without dust getting into the lighter colors of a picture. Cleaning these up is much easier than with soft pastels. A quick spray of hairspray or clear gloss will hold the pigment on paper. I love the wide variety of shades and hues. If I replace my older pastels for new ones,this is the set I will get . These are Not cheap art supplies.They are high quality pastels that every artists deserves to own.

As usual photos can be misleading. The coloring sticks are quite small maybe two inches long and maybe 3/8” thick. A bit hard to handle.Otherwise a good deal.

Beautiful selection of colors, small in size but great way to get familiar with pastels and the various ways to use them. Great price makes them an excellent starter setpsa...after I wrote this I took them to class in my art bag. They are in a covered tray inside a box...seems secure. Put a rubber band around your box!! It spilled open and they all fell out. It was a bit of a nightmare trying to get them all sorted out & back in the proper color slot

I am into Bible journaling. I'm always looking for a new medium to incorporate. I'm not a pro with blending colors (Prismacolor, various colored pencils, paint, etc.) but you don't have to be for these to work! Just a light rub on your paper or a light tap to get the dust to fall onto your paper is all you need. These are SUPER blendable, VERY highly pigmented, and fairly "forgivable" should you make a mistake. You can use non-alcohol hairspray to seal your picture. To smooth the color dust out, I used cotton balls, paper stumps, and kleenex. The BEST dust spreader is your own finger. (Messy, but worth it.) The intensity of the product is determined by how much you use (a little goes a long way,) and the tooth of the paper. You can use the chalks as a foundation because you can still write on top of them with ink and colored pencils. The colors are approximately a couple of inches long and are available in an array of colors. Happy chalking!

Colors are vibrant but the chalk dust is too much

Bought these pastels to add color to my polymer clay for jewelry. They really are the best value for your money. Small in size but a little goes a long way! Easy to use. Easy to clean up. Versatile for many crafting projects. Great gift as well.
