Review: Such a fun coloring book! - I'm so happy I ordered this coloring book. The pictures are cute and have a nice amount of detail. I had never ordered a Jade Summer book before and wasn't sure what to expect. It has pictures on one side of the page and black on the back. It has the standard coloring book paper but of course no color shows through due to the black color on the back. I think I will however, use my standard printer paper behind the pages as I color. I'm very happy with my purchase! Review: 25 x 2 each Cute Manga style Chibi Girls – printed one side of the page - This is my second Chibi Girls coloring book by Jade Summer (note that this is not a duplicate of the first one of the same title). There are 25 different designs (with 2 copies of each design for a total of 50 coloring pages.) The designs are cute fantasy girls are drawn in manga style with full backgrounds. The designs are quite detailed and some contain small areas to color. The designs; however, are not what I consider intricate and difficult to color. The word chibi is a Japanese slang term for small person. The cuties in this book are small but have beautiful big eyes and lots of personality. The designs put the girls in many scenarios, including a ballerina, a witch, a steampunk girl, a Roman warrior, an Egyptian princess and much more. While you can have access to .PDFs when you purchase this book, my review is based on the book as it is received from desertcart. That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. I like that the publisher provides the digital version as well so you can choose the paper you wish to use and/or to color the pictures as many times as you choose. This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium: 25 x 2 each fun Chibi girl designs for a total of 50 coloring pages Designs are printed on one side of the page Paper is typical of CreateSpace: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of the page is printed black. The designs do not merge into the binding. There is a heavy framing line at the outer edges of the design to give the project a more finished look, especially for framing. Glue Binding (there is room to cut the pages out if you choose to do so.) Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below. Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly. Water-based markers bleed through in spots. Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats. Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils. I also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.

Cute book...not so good paper!
I like the cute pictures of this book and the fact that you get 2 of each one. This is good if you want to share or try coloring the pictures differently. What I did not like about the book is the paper. I think I've heard it called "creative space"paper.. it's kinda of like one step up from copier paper but with a lot of tooth. I felt I had to work the pencil more than I like to. I gave 4 stars because I love the pictures and they are fun to color.

Best coloring book ever
I love this book. I get it for Christmas. I was surprised to find out the pages are black on the back of the pages to prevent bleeding. I was also shocked to find out it was a double book. so I get 2 of every picture. Biggest surprise of all is the fact I get a code for the PDF of the book and can print as many pages as I want. One of my best Christmas presents. I also love the pictures that came in side. I am a big anime fan and it is very hard to find well made Anime coloring books. I am so happy with my books.

Cute and sassy girls
I love this book it's so cute. The lines are nice and dark but the lines are not thick. The girls are so cute and sassy. The quality of the paper is good with black on the back of each page therefore doesn't show if marker has bled through. I still use a sheet of paper behind it so that it doesn't bleed on next page. This come with two copies of each page.

AMAZING, Must buy!!!!
This is an awesome coloring book and was 1 of 3 different Jade Summer coloring books I bought There are doubles of a character so you can color it twice!!! To make this even better, there is a special surprise gift inside it as well!!! she has a website that shows all her coloring books and she has a large genre selection as well. Will definitely be buying more of her coloring books!

These Chibi Girls are adorable.
This book is full of adorable Chibi Girls in different situations. I haven't had the chance to color many yet but did attach the one that I did do. Jade Summer book almost always have two of each coloring in their books and also a free download from their web site, so you can color your favorites as many times as you wish. The paper in the book is thinner than I like but the pages all have black backs to help with bleed through. I own several Jade Summer books and have enjoyed coloring in every one of them.

Beautiful Images but Bad Quality Paper
I want to give this book five stars. I really do. I have a couple of problems with it, though. First, the book comes with a free PDF version. That's fantastic, but I couldn't find the "access code" to save my life. I went through every email and looked on the first and last pages of the book to no avail. I posted in one of my coloring groups and, lo and behold, I found the page with the access code *toward* the back of the book. It wasn't on the last page; it was on the fourth-to-last page followed by several blank pages. It seems to me that the placement of this code could be better. I sent a message on Facebook to the author, and that's when I found the code. I emailed the access code and the title of the book to the author for access to the PDF, but I still haven't received it. This brings me to my second problem with this book. I wish artists would stop using this particular publisher for their coloring books. The paper is absolutely horrible. It's very, very thin, so there's no way to use markers without experiencing some buckling of the page. The texture of the paper is very strange; it eats away the cores of my pencils in no time and creates a very large amount of "dust", even with my Polychromos. I've been working on one image in this book and there are dust smudges everywhere despite my best attempt to prevent it (resting my hand on wax paper, brushing away dust with a large brush, etc). Another problem I'm having with the book is with the ink. I successfully colored the dress in the first image a lovely light pink, but when I went back over it with my Prismacolor colorless blender, it pulled a LOT of the printing ink right out of the page. Now I'm left with a dingy gray over my pink. The first attached image shows the gray tinge to what *was* a very light pink in the pinkest part of the dress (this was colored with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor in several layers and then a Prismacolor colorless blender with medium pressure). The second attached image shows the dust/smudging around the reddest part of the hem of the dress into the grassy area (this was done with Polychromos Deep Scarlet Red). The high quality pencils are not the issue. It's the quality of the paper and the book itself. If I get the PDF version of the book so I can print it on my own paper, I'll upgrade my review to four stars. Otherwise, I can't give it more than three, and I can't really say I'd recommend it to others. The images are simply gorgeous and the artist is undeniably talented. The actual quality of the book and the paper leave much to be desired.

Je suis fan!
J'ADORE!

Perfecto
El libro es muy bonito, pero hay que tener en cuenta que cada dibujo se repite al final del libro. Por lo demás todo genial, por detras son hojas de color negro.

quality
cuteness! I was looking for a coloring book that I could use my bright florescent gel pens and this is it. nice thick paper lined with black so colors don't bleed through. quite detailed for adult coloring. Double copies of each pic and an access code to download as many copies of the pics as you like so you can color them over and over. makes for good value for your money. pics include everything from mermaids to ballerinas to cowgirls and pirates. lots of variety. Am very happy with this beautiful quality book.
