Kiribi Kabuto Short Black Nickel Pipe Lighter

This is a very nicely executed lighter but because of its short stature it is difficult to manipulate one handed. The Old Boy lighters seem easier to handle. I should have purchased the full size here.

Small size that fits comfortably in your pocket or pipe pouch. Soft, adjustable angled flame gives you a perfect light without having to twist your hand at a weird angle. Seems like a very high quality lighter for the price. Comparable in quality and function to an Old Boy for half the price. Update: I've owned this lighter for over 5 years now. It still works great. I've seen some complaints about the lighter not working, or using too much fuel. Obviously I haven't had a problem with the function of the lighter, using it two or three times a day. A fill up of butane will last me a few weeks. I don't know how these other folks are using their lighters, but if you use it like normal it's a high quality pipe lighter for the price. I haven't even thought about getting a different one, still very pleased with my purchase after 5+ years.

I like it because the flame is low for lighting a pipe. I am refilling it everyday, I only smoke one pipe a day. I do have a cigar lighter which I can go several days without a refill. The cigar lighter is not the best, i tend to burn my fingers. I would not recommend this lighter!!

This lighter does not work and it will not let me return, exchange or get a refund!

I’ve owned this lighter for a year and have done my best to like it. It looks great—unfortunately, that’s where the praise ends. It rarely lights on the first try and often refuses altogether. My Zippo, battered but faithful, does the job every time. The Kabuto, meanwhile, sits there looking pretty and useless.

I heard good things about the lighter. However, mine won’t light unless I use my mail to slightly press down where the fuel comes out as I’m lighting it. I tried reaching out to get it replaced but never heard anything back. I’ve tried using it from time to time over the past year but it just doesn’t work reliably so it just sits there and collects dust.

Well engineered. Solid. Great for pipe smoker. Love that there is no tamper so the butane chamber is bigger. Is it as good as an Old Boy? I think so. In fact I am buying another one...

Great quality for the price, much better than other options in this price range. Well constructed, sturdy lighter which lights reliably. Love the design and compact size. Perfect daily carry in the classic old boy style.
