Before this, I had a Bissel Crosswave, which I was never happy with, so it was a bit of a gamble for me to ditch it and buy a cheaper VAX. Turned out to be a wise decision, though. The VAX arrives in a surprisingly compact but very heavy box. It has a separate cleaning fluid tank, which means that you can easily pour what you don't use back in the bottle. The Rapid Power has a number of hand-tools and a long pipe that connects to the main machine. There are four tools. They're great for doing soft furniture or stains. There are two big, heavy heads and two small light ones. One of the heads has a power brush in it. I am not sure what they are all for, so I took some photos and you can decide for yourself. The round brush on one of the tools rotates when the cleaner is switched on. The pipe and tools come in a storage bag, but once again you need to think about where you are going to keep them and whether you really need them. I didn't think I needed them, but turned out I used them right away! Very simple to clip together and and use. Overall the construction is good. The tools seem very well made. The motor is very powerful and while not being quiet, is smooth sounding and tolerable. Very easy to use. I was very impressed with the rate at which it put down and picked up water. It seemed to be very effective at picking up the water. I suppose, on a cold day, you might need to put the heating on for a while, though. On a medium warm day, with all the windows open, I found short pile dried within the hour and long pile took up to two. Upholstery took an hour. At the moment they are less than half a dozen hires of a professional machine. The only reason I can think of that you might not want one of these is that you haven't got anywhere to store it. Very impressed. Highly recommended.

purchased this a few days ago, delivery was quick, everything arrived intact, without any damage. When I began to assembly the cleaner I felt a little disappointed, it seemed like nothing fits to its location as it should. Both of the water tanks slide in, but they feel a little loose as they don’t click into their place firmly. It was very hard to attach the hose at the beginning and every single time a small bit of the upper insulation ring was cut out by its socket on the machine. Then I switched on the cleaner and basically nothing happened, no suction power, no cleaning solution coming out. As it turned out I need to position the dirty water tank very precisely, otherwise there will be a tiny gap between the tank and the machine and air gets in from the side instead of going through the tank. I think it should click on its place firmly, providing a proper connection without any extra hassle. At the end, hose issue is gone after connecting and disconnecting it a few times, now it fits easily. With properly positioned dirty tank water suction power is great, cleaning solution is sprayed in a nice wide pattern. I cleaned a small carpet, 2 office chairs and a couch, the result is convincing. It was also very easy to clean the machine when I finished. At the end of the day I’m happy with the purchase, the machine did a great job! I found this model the best value with the extra long hose and additional attachments, these are all useful features. I would give 4.5 stars.

Good carpet cleaner and drys really quick, only thing is the attachments for doing the likes of the stairs or furniture isn’t as good, doesn’t suck up as much as the main unit and some attachments are useless like the rotating brush head. Easy to assemble big and bit heavy but I would expect that from a good cleaner.

This product was very easy to set up, used within minutes of delivery. Really impressed with how easy it was to clean with! Note, the box you receive it in is large in size as well once the machine is assembled it’s bulky to store away. I had the cheaper pet vax model before and went through 3 replacements and returns as it kept tripping my electrics and machine smoking within minutes of turning on (must have been a faulty batch), so was skeptical about getting another and more expensive vax carpet cleaner, but so far so good! This model definitely has better features than the cheaper pet model, I like that you can choose between quick dry and deep clean on this model. Quick dry feels more of a light clean and it really does dry my rugs in under an hour. Whereas the deep clean definitely gets into my rugs more and leave them wet for longer to dry. I have some very large rugs which I can’t fit in the washing machine, so this carpet cleaner was great at deep cleaning them! I will say be careful where you turn the carpet cleaner off, as some water debris can drip down through the suction enterance, so can be left with a line of dirty water, which I noticed on a cream rug id just cleaned, so would then have to go over that area again. I like the handheld attachments for furnishings, as a few sizes have scrubbers on the end, to scrub in the spray solution. I didn’t feel the suction was as good as the main machine, but maybe I’m using it wrong, or not putting enough solution down before suction. Overall a happy investment if you’re like me and have pets so would use this quite regularly!

Bought the lower price VAX carpet cleaner a year or so ago and it was useless and leaked which caused it to trip the electrics. So was wanting a replacement. Was a bit dubious about buying another VAX but decided to spend a bit more on this one. Thankfully, the design is much improved. No water leaking. Having the separate shampoo container simplifies things massively. No having to mess with different ratios as it will mix it itself. Used it on a carpet that hadn’t been cleaned in years and didn’t notice a huge difference at first, even though the dirty water it was collecting was obvious, but after allowing it to dry for a while, the carpet is certainly a lot cleaner. The handheld attachment is useful for corners and edges or any spot parts, with a long hose that easily attaches to the machine. The supplied VAX solution is ok but doesn’t last long, so bought a big 5L container of non VAX solution which will last a while and certainly did a better job at cleaning and freshening and is a lot cheaper. It does feature a large clean water tank but it does require filling often. But the filling of the solution tank and clean water tank is simple with quarter turn caps (no having to unscrew a lid for many turns). Emptying the dirty water tank is simple with one clip. The brushes are removable allowing them to be cleaned. It’s not too heavy to lift. Just remember when it comes to using carpet shampoo machines, take your time. Don’t treat it like a normal vacuum cleaner that you whip around with. Make sure to vacuum the carper first with a normal vacuum. When shampooing, try and do straight lines. Walk forward slowly whilst holding the water trigger and then release the trigger, walk backwards step by step slowly, and allow the machine to scrub and suck up the solution from the carpet fibres. Repeat this till any solution it sucks up is clean looking (you can see this via the clear section on the top of the collection tank) and not really extracting anymore solution. Overall very impressed with it.

Good machine, cleans well, attachements usefull for car interior as well.
