Very capable and affordable hoist!
Surprising capability for such a low priced, lightweight hoist. I bought it to pull a B&W fifth wheel hitch out of my Ram 3500 during the offseason, and it does a great job. It came with a wall mount that was perfect to mount on the inside of the garage door header, and I simply back under the hitch and lift it out. I do have to hook the cable end to the wall mount and the main unit up to the hitch, so it's upside down from traditional hook up, but it doesn't know it's upside down! It has a wireless and wired remote as well as controls on the unit itself. There are 'things' that are not perfect with this unit for example stickers pealing off, wireless remote battery access panel was shipped installed upside down making it difficult to open, but neither of which limits its functionality and a little screwdriver and patience fixed the remote battery access panel. It is a bit loud and beware the speed that it moves when you first use it. For the price those minor issues are a nit. I would definitely buy this unit again.

Extremely helpful
This item works great for lifting and holding a heavy object while it is being worked on. Easy to install and easy to use. It even has a remote control.

Great for lifting riding mowers.
I purchased this to lift my riding mowers up to access the removal of the blades for sharpening. After reinforcing my attic joists I mounted the attaching eye to the ceiling and hung the hoist. It works great and made accessing the mower blades so much easier. I can sharpen them more often. I would recommend this item

Good enough to get yourself in trouble with it
This is definitely an electric hoist. There's no doubt about it. It lifts. It pulls. It's surprisingly cheap. So far I've used it to hoist a load of around 350 lbs. The difficulty people are having with kinking cable is almost certainly because they're retracting it unloaded. Don't do that. Always put load on it when retracting if you want it to spool cleanly. The cable must be pulled taut. Unlike a winch, you can't easily see how well it's spooling because it's all happening inside the casing. But it is possible to view it through certain angles: a window in the back or a bit from the underside, but the core issue is that you may not be at those angles while working. The unit is definitely loud, as others said. It also definitely doesn't stop on a dime when you release the button, as others have said. And the safety switch that prevents you from retracting too far into the unit is also poorly designed: the circular plate easily misses that limit switch button. Also, if you get into a situation where it's tensioning at an angle, the cable can drag against the relatively sharp edges of the steel window where it exits the unit. This particularly made me uncomfortable. I would have preferred the cable exited the unit through a round bar slot (as you would see on a DC winch) to avoid the risk of abrasion of the cable when pulling at an angle, which could become a very serious safety issue. I have no idea if the load rating is real. I think 500 kg/1100 lbs probably just refers to the safe limit of typical steel cable of that size. I don't plan to get anywhere close to that. All in all, I'm happy with it. It's probably not an intrinsically safe device but it can be used safely if you're pay attention to its limits.

Works fine
I used it only twice, and this little hoist performed surprisingly well both times. There is a delay in response to inputs, and the direction of movement is not marked clearly, so it takes some learning curve.

Yatointo electric hoist.
Do not buy this hoist, worked for a couple of minutes then nothing. I gave it a one star because I had to , should be a minus stars.

THIS TOOK ME BY SUPRISE! GREAT PURCHASE!
I was skeptical, at first, but this product exceeded my expectations on durability. Slow and steady is perfect vs others i have seen in person... this fit the BILL PERFECTLY at a PRICE-POINT that is far less than name-brand competitors. Yes it is CHINESE MADE, but it is built perfectly... I recommend.... Fast Delivery, easy out of the box instructions and I was up and running in minutes... (I built a Support Structure to attach this to in my Vaulted Roof Access in the Garage (14ft to the entrance in the ceiling), the Device was set at the lowest point of 10ft past that....
