These are great cards to have open discussions with your children. With these well thought out activities they will gain a deeper understanding of emotions. I would plan to give a lot of attention to each of these little activities. I also recommend using them to accompany some other emotional learning activities. It may take a while for a child to fully understand all the aspects of an emotion so these activities can be used over and over. Though the box seems small, a lot is packed into it. I love how sturdy the puzzle pieces are. Everything in the set is kid friendly. The emotion cards are great because they explain the body language of each emotion. That's so helpful to train young children to look for cues in others, to know how they are feeling. This is such a great little set and a great addition to our learning environment.

This is a very cute concept. I really do like the text on the back of each puzzle box about a way to find happiness each day. Unfortunately, my 4.5 year-old completed everything in less than 30 minutes. We played the emotions game but it didn’t keep her interested longer than a few minutes. It really didn’t sustain her interest for as long as I would hope for the price. For a younger child - 3 or 3.5 - it might be more useful.

Happy Habits is a Great way to talk about emotions while enhancing your fine motor/visual perceptual skills. There are seven small boxes of puzzle pieces included in this set. They range in difficulty depending on how many pieces are in the box. The six puzzles depict simple ways in order to find your happy place. The puzzle pieces are well made and will fit perfectly into smaller size hand/fingers. Included are two large size dice with a bear head and body that need to be matched according to the six easy to discern expression cards. There is also one green die for children to roll, in order to answer questions about their own matching feelings. Children usually like discussing their emotions as it is a part of every classroom circle time. This is a perfect activity to help get things started, for those children that can benefit from that initial boost. So important for all aged children but especially the autistic population who need reinforcement on reading facial expressions and body language. Happy Habits is highly recommended.
