These sport peppers from Vienna Beef are the best of the best and cannot be found at any of my local stores. Having to buy a 4 pack is a little more than I need because they are not an everyday item, but the fact that Amazon had them was a huge win regardless. They are great for any type of deli sandwich/hoagie, cheesesteak, and oh.... of course your Vienna Beef Chicago Hot Dogs. Not crazy spicy, but they do have a mild heat to them. In the world of sport peppers, these are # 1.

Essential for authentic home-made Chicago-style hot dogs
It's been 10 years since I lived there, but I started really getting homesick for Chicago hot dogs at the start of pandemic. Problem is, you can't get sport peppers for love or money in North Carolina. In 2020 and 2021, I sort of made do with all manner of substitutes, mostly settling on banana peppers. For 2022 hot dog season, I was not having it any longer, it was time to get the real deal. It was probably the best decision and best purchase I made this year.I love a Chicago hot dog any time during the summer; it has become more or less my go-to quick food. I do lots of substitutions, too; I am not particularly precious about the bun, the color of the relish, or even the hot dog itself. I mostly use a Johnsonville hot link; the kick of it just makes me happy. But ever since I bought the 4-bottle pack of Vienna Sport Peppers, I am more excited than ever to have my favorite summer food.The only down side is the peppers play absolute havoc with my digestive system, but it is a minor inconvenience for how beautiful and brilliant they make my hot dogs.Now, even though I eat them regularly all summer, I only went through 2/4 bottles this summer. That is tremendous value for money, as I know the next 2 will almost certainly get me through 2023. Accept no substitutes, y'all, the Vienna Sport Pepper is an essential.
