My wife’s taste in bracelets tends to be very predictable with her generally favouring simple classic designs which feature a high degree of symmetry. We’ve often discussed the idea of her “changing it up” a bit and trying a piece or two which have more unique elements in an asymmetrical setting. She thought it was a good idea and decided that this piece might work nicely for her. This bracelet, indeed, features two entirely different, contrasting elements, a stylized infinity symbol (1” long and 1/4” in width) as well as a cubic zirconia birthstone (we ordered the ruby). While the infinity symbol has a rather simple figure eight shape, it is brought to life by a series of small clear stones resembling diamonds which run along the overlapping edge of the loop; the stones are initially small but, as the loop widens, they increase in size before getting smaller again as the loop contracts. The birthstone is roughly 1/4” in diameter and set in a hollow heart which allows it to be visible from both sides. It is located 5/8” from the infinity symbol; the positioning is nicely done, allowing both elements to be clearly visible while maintaining visual cohesiveness. Constructed of stainless steel plated with rhodium, the chain and pendant settings are made to mimic silver. Both the infinity loop and the birthstone pendant are attached directly to the cable chain ensuring that, while they may flip over, they will always remain in the same relative position. It should be noted that during wear the birthstone and infinity loop will often flip so that their back face is showing; the back faces are not nearly as attractive as the front faces. The chain is six and a half inches in length with a one and a half inch extender (with a cute heart charm on the end of it). It employs a standard lobster clasp. The bracelet comes inside a gift box that resembles a black picture frame with transparent plastic stretched across it. The case is fine for housing the bracelet for gift giving but I wouldn’t expect it to last long as a storage case. My wife quite likes the unique look of this bracelet for casual wear. Its simple, elegant design makes it a thoughtful gift. The fact that you can personalize the bracelet by choosing the appropriate birthstone for the recipient certainly makes it seem like you are giving something more intimate and personal. Recommended.
