This is a pretty nice infuser. It's become my go-to. I have used many types of infusers over the years, so I perhaps have useful experience to assess this one.Some info to help your decision:The mesh in nice and fine. Only the smallest particles make it through, but it still flows well.The silicone rubber covers on the tabs are removable for cleaning, but stay on just fine in use and help the infuser stay put and give it less of that metal-against-ceramic scraping noise. You know what I mean.The cover is tight. Take that how you will. Personally I only use it as a place to set the infuser after steeping.It fits most mugs well. Only wide soup-type mugs may be too wide for it to sit on. I tend to use larger 'bistro' size mugs and it works for me.The spoon seems sturdy enough. It's heavy and thick. The bowl is welded on the handle with tiny, surprisingly even welds.The spoon is approx. 1.5 teaspoons. Maybe a touch less. It's a good volume for the mugs I tend to use which are about 12-16 oz. Usually tea proportions are 1tsp. To 8oz., So it works to have a spoon that measures the right amount for that range, adjusting of course for type and taste.1 star deducted for the following minor reasons, which are pretty subjective.The tabs under the rubber covers are just slightly sharp. Or pointy. You're not going to cut yourself, but they aren't super finger friendly. But it's not bad.The steel used in the infuser is thin like most super fine mesh infusers. Not a big deal, just don't abuse it.It's not a big enough infuser for WHOLE leaf tea. Like, the entire leaf. I'm talking leaves that are over an inch long by 1/2 inch wide. But only the biggest infusers can handle that. Or just put them in the cup without an infuser. I only have one basket-style infuser than can handle such tea and give it room to unfurl. But that's a rather rare kind of tea.Note that at least a couple of the reviews for this are fake. Mine is real. :)

Easier to use that the small infuser balls, fairly easy to clean although sometimes bits of tea leaves get stuck in the mesh, but this is unavailable in any tea infuser, the metal top that you place the infuser in gets very hot so just be aware once you remove the infuser and set it in the top you won't be able to touch it for a while till it cools, the rubber handles can and do slide off easily, but I just slip em back on and carryon... Overall very happy with my purchase

I read another review that said I love th is, I have to agree. I use it in a 1-cup measuring glass cup to soak herbs over night with the lid. It does not cover the entire mouth of the cup but that is ok for me. The little handles make it easy to lift. I use measuring spoons to measure for precise tablespoon Easy to clean

The silicone tips are the only drawback. If you aren't paying attention, they slip off easily and can get lost.

Steeping tea leaves depends on type, etc. but the spoon is the perfect measure for my needs in a 10oz cup! Bought this specifically to hold finer blends and it works retaining small particles inside the mesh.

I just had the best cup of Funan oolong tea made with this strainer. There was plenty of room for the leaves to expand and the taste was just wonderful. No metallic aftertaste which I have experienced with other strainers. Easy to clean!! And the gray you see on the handles or ears in the photo are heat resistant so you don't burn your fingers taking it off your cup. Clever!! VERY well made, tea spoon is SOLID, heavy gauge stainless.

Love it. Its great!! Some of tge small bits can sometimes be tough to get out but its definitely not a big deal.
