Good lesson learnt
This watch was a "V" series which was produced probably in 2009. It came with the plastic wrap removed, no serial number card was shipped with it. It does not seem to me it is a new watch. I think I've made a mistake to buy this kind of watch online. Good lesson learnt !

Great watch
I have a few other Rolexes and Audemars Piguet watches and the Daytona is one of my favorites in my collection. I didn't have a chronograph and was looking to get one, I looked at the Zenith El Primero, the Omega Speedmaster, and the Daytona. After trying all three of these on, the Daytona was the most comfortable on the wrist and I thought it looked the best. Although it was the most expensive out of the three, I decided to get it. I also looked at the possibility of getting an older Zenith Daytona but I wanted the in-house Calibre 4130 movement. It's a great watch and I try to wear it at least once a week. The only issue I have is with the polished center links, they're a bit too blingy and eye-catching but other than that I have no complaints.

My Best Watch!
I own a Rolex Daytona/Cosmograph timepiece, I had a Rolex Submariner and I was very interested in purchasing a S/S Daytona and used to talk to the dealer when I flew into Anchorage, the Ben Bridge shop in the mall was a regular trip, we talked about how many people were on her list and how hard they were to get. The day while working in Bethel, Alaska, I received a long distant call from Anchorage, the dealer had received two Daytonas, one white and one black faced, she asked me if I wanted one, I asked about the list of hundreds of people who had been waiting for years to get you and I will always remember her comment: "Yes, but you want to wear it, they want to sell it" I gave her a credit card and paid $5,200 and she shipped it to me.I was amazed as we had been in Europe and had cut across to Switzerland just to look for a S/S Daytona, the dealers just laughed at us, there were none to be had anywhere.I have never regretted buying the watch and have in 18 years have only run into two other persons wearing the same watch. They both recognized the watch as I did theirs. I can say that there has only been two times I have seen this watch for sale in a Rolex dealer's display case, one was in Nadi, in Fiji, about 4 years ago for about $10,000 and recently in Guam at the Rolex dealer there, for $11,200This watch is in a category by itself and will never grow out of fashion, I hear all the talk of fashion in watches about not being metallic but using plastic and rubber, and of the size, and I just laugh!!If you can afford one, and your wife smiles when you mention it, go for it, by 2018 this watch will sell for $18,000, guaranteed.

I love this watch
I got this watch at a hefty price, but it's worth every penny. It's almost impossible to get from authorized Rolex dealer as they are stupid or rather Rolex for making such a short supply. But I guess that is part of the appeal of the watch. People tend to want what they cannot get. If the supply was not as low, the appeal for this watch may not be as high. But objectively speaking, I think it is a beautiful piece. It is questionable if there are better-looking watches out there, but it was fun finally finding a place that sells it. It's a jungle out there as some stores have no waiting lists or if they do, require you to be a prefer customer and some have a first-come basis policy which really depends on LUCK...forget all that, I pay whatever, give me the damn watch.

Nice watch but not the best Rolex for everyday wear
I own this watch, with a white dial along with several other Rolex watches. I purchased this watch in 1990 when my Rolex Sea Dweller 4000 was stolen and replaced by homeowners insurance. I had to wait 18 months for the Daytona after paying for it in full. It cost around $5500.00 at the time and the continuous price increases ARE a VERY nice reason for investing in a Rolex. The problem with the Daytona is that, even in all stainless steel, it is EXTREMELY susceptible to minor scratches, especially on the dial. I only wear mine VERY occasionally (the original green sticker on the back of the case is still like new) but I have some very minor scratches on the dial. The thing that sets a Rolex APART from virtually all other watches is its RUGGEDNESS and DURABILITY. A Rolex is DESIGNED to be worn under ANY conditions that its wearer may be exposed to. In that regard the Sea Dweller 4000 was a much more PRACTICAL watch in that the owner need not be concerned about scratching it up or damaging it cosmetically if worn 24/7.

Comfortable to wear
Over the years I started to rely on my cell phone instead of wearing a watch. I had a Breitling as "jewelry" for the occasions when I needed to make the right impression, but otherwise most of the time I would wear no watch.Then--for our 25th anniversary--my wife bought a Daytona for me...I quickly found that the Daytona is a very comfortable watch to wear; has no sharp edges and does not feel too chunky or too heavy. So now I am back to wearing a watch every day; not because I need to, but because I want to.In addition to being comfortable, the stainless Daytona seems tough enough for daily wear, and it makes me smile every day when I see it...

Rolex Daytona- rare, beautiful, and worth every cent!
As a fairly new Rolex Daytona owner (waiting list for 2 years), I concur with the statements made before me about availability, and cost. The watch speaks for itself (if real) and I am impressed with it more each day. Whether it is an object of love, desire, investment, or indulgence, wanting one is no sin, and owning one sheer pleasure. Of course other than its' aesthetic beauty, and the feeling of confidence and pride one gets in owning a very high quality ANYTHING (it is first and foremost an unquestioned serious timepiece and item of jewelry), lots of Rolex owners simply LIVE for the reactions of others to the watch. It reflects different things to different people, owners and viewers alike. It outlast owners, and will increase in value each year. I trust other owners will enjoy theirs as much as I do mine. I also own a Movado Men's diamond Eliro, and while stylish and elegant in its' own right, the Rolex is a whole other animal.
